    Interplay finally files belated 10-K

Keep in mind that those prices were from before and after a hostile takeover by the Caens as well. After Mr. Fargo built Interplay from a small developer to a fairly large publisher, the company began to struggle. From roughly the time that the company went public, neither Mr. Fargo nor Mr...

    Interplay finally files belated 10-K

Murdoch, I once made a timeline thread of events at Interplay over at the Interplay board. Here's an excerpt leading up to Mr. Fargo's resignation and (apparently not-so-conclusive) settlement... May 30, 2001 Interplay nearly sold to Pacific Century Cyber Works, a Chinese Consotium for $120...

    Interplay finally files belated 10-K

That'd be my guess as well. Fargo's departure wasn't amicable and each filed suit against the other, but I think you're basically right. I'll eat my hat if those aren't the shares Caen bought. Here's Fargo's resignation letter and Caen's response for the curious.

    Interplay finally files belated 10-K

I think that you're mixing up copyrights and trademarks. The 95 year thing is for old (pre-1978) copyrights. Here's something that I posted at Winterwind a couple of months ago... That means that it will be a while before the existing Fallout games become public domain and may be freely...

    Bitterman speaks

Wow! That was quite a rant. "Seriously, people, grow up. Consoles are where the money is at, and Interplay is a company that needs what? Money. They were willing to try anything, to save the company. It was a gamble, but because of the narrow sight, and stubborn heart of the community. It...

More rumours on shady dealings by Caen

I don't know whether it had anything to do with recommendations by SGC, but somehow this reminded me of something that I was looking at when I was first researching Interplay as a possible investment about a year and a half ago... You guys may already be aware of this, but Interplay offered a...

More rumours on shady dealings by Caen

A buyout, whether leveraged by a bond issue or not, could explain Caen's surprise purchase, though I'm not sure whether anyone would want to buy Interplay as it is... http://www.gamertalk.biz/viewtopic.php?p=27235#27235

News from the Interplay stock holder's meeting

No. He did state that the note had not yet been repaid, however. Even without the board's intervention, the note was due to be paid in February 2004.

    Inertplay sues more

BattleBorne terminated their development contract with Interplay in late September--exactly at the heart of Interplay's big cash crunch. It seems likely that Interplay couldn't afford to continue to fund the development of the game, so BattleBorne terminated the agreement. I have no idea...

    Fallout license goes to...

That's how I've interpreted it as well, except that I'm really not sure about the engine. Here's the relevant statement in the Vivendi deal... http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1057232/000117091803000601/iec10q093003.txt (Section 12.4d) I'm interpreting that as a green light for...

    What is Caen/Titus up to?

:D My joshin' was over the top, but with all that weaponry talk, it just seemed like the thing to say. Lest it be taken the wrong way, there are still good folks at Interplay. Fewer than there were a couple of weeks ago, perhaps, but they're there. Anyway, from Kumquatq3's post, it...

I clicked on "Articles" item in the "Fallout" menu from the main page, which took me to this page... http://www.nma-fallout.com/fallout1/articles/ When I click "How to install Fallout on XP/2000/NT (NMA)" from that page, I receive the error. I tried it again, and I'm still seeing the...

    The Game

I should have learned after Jefferson not to look at screenshots for canceled games. It saddens me to see the quality of the artwork in games that I really want to play but never will. Unfortunately, I just can't help myself.

    Silver Style and Fallout 3

It looks as though Interplay actually could sell the Fallout PC rights under their agreement with Vivendi, even though they can't actually sell the unfinished game... http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1057232/000117091802000117/iec3q02ex10-1.txt
