5 million copies of Fallout: New Vegas shipped says Bethesda

At $60 per unit there is ~$10 to the retailer and $3-5 to the distributor (Bethesda doesn't sell directly to the retail store). Then $5 for physical package/production/shipping. So figure $40 per unit minus advertising (which was $20m[?] for F3 but much less for FNV).

I find that 'modern' weapons are more of a problem due to materials availability. It's a post apocalyptic environment where quality metals are rare(?). Plastics won't be available so any "new" weapon (gadget) will be of reused metal and wood. This varmint rifle is very prestine looking but...

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #71

It isn't a question of whether someone likes F3 (thinks it's great). The question is: Is the story a 10/10 - can't be better Is dialogue a 10/10 - can't be better Is it more innovative than any other game released in 2008

    NMA: Fallout 3 review

When first meeting Smitty he says: "I wouldn't mind selling the car though. If someone brought be the battery - no strike that, uh, I guess I'd need a fuel cell controller." Seems cars with batteries was would prevalent that fuel cells.

    NMA: Fallout 3 review

It appears that Bethesda's design goal is to provide a larp-simulatior - a big sandbox with lots of different toys for you to choose from. Nothing wrong with such a game, but it isn't even remotely a character-RPG like fallout.

One of the forumer's over at iron tower studio gave a well written short synopsys of F3: http://www.irontowerstudio.com/forum/index.php?topic=575.msg18276#msg18276 Conclusion: There are nuggets of good in Fallout 3, it's just they're buried in mounds of awful stuff. I wish it were a total...

Just a note: Techspot is running 64-bit Vista Ultimate I've noticed that others have commented having problems on their XP desktop but less so on their Vista laptops.

NMA article: My Fallout 3 adventures!

Bethesda could have saved themselves a lot of grief if it were named Fallout: Capital Wastelands - after all, their manual calls the game "Capital Wastelands." But it's labeled F3 because there will be no spiritual successor to Fo1/2 from BethSoft. F3 seems to fail though as a "fallout" game...

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #11

What I can gather is this: F3 is a much better Oblivion. It's a horrible Fallout. So... if you found Oblivion okay/good, you will like F3. If you could tolerant OB then keep in mind that F3 is better.

    Fallout 3 hits Steam

When a requirement states something like INT=4, does that mean INT must equal 4 to take the perk? Just asking as at one point, 4 was the lowest value one could set for SPECIAL. So saying ATRIB requirement >=4 is meaningless since attributes can never be less than 4? EDIT - IIRC 4 was...

IIRC - at one time BethSoft had set 4 as the lowest SPECIAL value in F3. Has this changed?

repetitive but rewarding? Sounds like he is trying really hard to say things that are truthful that can be taken as positive but is actually meh, if not outright negative.

Interesting read. They fully understand why F3 is NOT a sequel. A commenter on the brainygamer forum has an insightful observation:
