The Obligatory "What are you listening to" Thread

I know what you mean. A lot of the time it helps one to spot the European posters, usually Polish, Czechs and Scandinavians; they love their metal. Same goes where i come from (Ireland), where, if people say they listen to metal, it's always the extreme stuff, Black, Death and Doom - never the...

The Obligatory "What are you listening to" Thread

Wow, didn't expect to find Ulver and Nile fans here (don't know why exactly). At the moment i'm listening to Gorgoroth (Destroyer), the new Mayhem and the new Celtic Frost albums. Also One Man Army And The Undead Quartet (severely underrated band).

    Fallout 3 at E3 - GWN

Yeah the GWN preview had the player finding one lying on the ground i think, but i do also recall some other preview saying that it was stolen from a Brotherhood Paladin. Sounds like they're a standard sidearm at this point.

    Fallout 3 at E3 - Kotaku

"The neatest thing is, it does all this and still makes you feel as if you're playing a shooter." Excellent. Most important aspect of Fallout retained.

    Fallout 3 at E3 - GWN

I love the way they've implemented the survival element. Just set off a mini-nuclear explosion? It's okay, there's a personal fallout shelter right there to hide in. See a super-mutant behemoth? scrounge around for a few seconds until you find a FatMan. Are these handy things just lying around...

    What is your weather like?

Here in Cork, Ireland, we have not seen the sun since March. It's been all rain, black sky and thunderstorms for about four months. As you can see, Summer doesn't mean a whole lot in this country.

Are you a fan of zombie books, movies, etc..?

There is a P+P roleplaying sourcebook called "All Flesh Must Be Eaten", published by a crowd called Edin (i think). It looks really cool, even though i don't roleplay myself, i really like the artwork and qoutes and such. I've leafed through the book and apparently the 'Zombie Master' (DM, i...

    Fallout 3 press release

A lot of that sounds like it was copied straight from the Fallout manual and then 'de-witified' (if i may coin a non-existant phrase) by those 'wizards' at Bethesda and peppered with a few choice words such as 'Nuclear Catapult' and 'V.A.T.S.'. But still, 50's - esque advertising jargon, see? we...

    Fallout 3 at E3 - Gamehelper

Good question Stag. The fact remains that swearing, although present, was not half as prevalent in Fallout as Todd Howard would have us believe (or at least the gaming 'press'). Even atagonistic characters such as Decker, Gizmo, Harry the super mutant and, of course, The Master did not swear (if...

PC Gamer podcasts covers Fallout 3

I love the way that all the essential Fallout gameplay elements (such as the perspective, turn-based combat etc) are all implemented as 'options' and 'compromises' to be used by a small minority of retro wierdos. It's almost as if these were thrown as an afterthought in order to keep the fanboys...

    Fallout 3 on XBox live

If i read that correctly (and i know next to nothing about the X Box and absolutely nothing about X Box Live), then that means the first official Fallout 3 downloadable stuff (pictures of Vault Boy, themes and whatever) is available ONLY to X Box users who have these card things? Not unexpected...

Pete Hines on Xbox live podcast

God, it's so painful listening to these people (and it's occured once or twice already in a few of the recent magazine previews) talk about how Bethesda has created a "visually unique retro-fifties future setting and then blew it up" (to paraphrase), as if they did it themselves. And they don't...

Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

Hail Hello, i'm Crowfoot and it's taken me about eight years to finally register on NMA. I've been playing Fallout (along with all of the other Black Isle rpgs) since about '98 or '99 and visiting NMA in it's various incarnations, just lurking about and following the Fallout 3 debacle from the...
