    Fallout 3: Gathering Good Karma

only having karma and not implementing localized reputation is not only lazy design but also nullifies the idea of "shades of grey". here's an example: city A benefits from natural circumstance X. City B has disadvantages because of X. city leader B who is supposed to be good gives you a...

Stalker CS Review Roundup + Patch

i absolutely loved s:shoc, and i'm very happy they released CSky this year. tho i haven't played fo3 myself yet, i saw the demo and i am positive that it won't have the most important thing that s:cs will have: atmosphere! so at least, there is a good game in '08 waiting to be played :-)

    GamersGlobal interviews Pete Hines

wouldn't it be nice if a place where everything was killed would be repopulated with the enemies of the fraction that lived there before? empty a raider base -> lawful people settle there. empty a town -> bad guys appear there. empty an insect dungeon -> mammals or whatever appear there...

Leipzig Games Convention starting and screenshots

ok, i was there yesterday. same demo as usual (eyebot, raiders and vats, more raiders, bridge, hacking, robots, enclave comes after you in the end). watched it two times. shows every half an hour, very long queues. you get 1 Fallout branded bottled water and 1 fallout t-shirt at the end of the...

    Fallout 3 bits and pieces

I think the problem with quicksave is also caused in not-so-good game design. you usually do quicksave/load if otherwise your character would die or suffer significantly, thus threatening your hardly gained xp or whatever. this usually happens with games that feel more like working than playing...

Crispy Gamer and VideoGamer play Fallout 3

 Guys, stop arguing about the radio thing. It's futile. Here's my idea of featuring a radio in such a setting. You stumble upon some hidden village that is quite intact but empty. among other things, you pick up an old radio (maybe solar powered?). while progressing in the game...

    X360A hands-on

true, and the more i look at them i don't understand how they could create an engine that can't do shadows. that stop sign looks like it's floating.

French website Gamekult plays Fallout 3

That was a refreshing and interesting read. It's good to see that not every game journalist is totally brainwashed. Anyway. Is it just me or does Oblivion, despite being older and having the same engine, look much better and consistent than this grey aliased mush?

    IGN plays Fallout 3 too

The whole teddy bear acceleration thing isn't that hard. actually, you just have to make a bear from a very hard material. then you have to shape the bear very aerodynamical, lets say, like a cylindre with a pointy head. i bet you could do that simple bear transformation with collected...

    Xbox World 360 article

ok, now that we know that FOblivion won't live up to the original games in any way, it also looks like the game won't be interesting for any other type of gamer. except for _really_ casual gamers. it doesn't look like a fallout game, and judging by the latest news, it doesn't look like a good...

    New Fallout 3 Teaser Trailer

If somebody wants to download that hd trailer (for whatever reason), here's a link: http://trailers.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/4758/t_fallout3_gttvexcl_e3tsr_idol3_gt_h264.wmv everything important concerning the quality of that trailer has already been said (no shadows, doesn't look natural...

Fallout 3 banned in Australia - bogus story

actually, that would be pretty ironic if the whole "extreme violence and gore for fun and dark humour and in first person to make it look more realistic" would backfire like this. just imagine the game without it's main advertising point. what would be left if they were forced to remove the gore?

Fallout 3 banned in Australia - bogus story

the whole german censorship thing was a pest. they made the children invisible, but they could still steal from you in FO2. censorship in games = ruining the whole experience.

    “Bethesda Softworks Can Suck It”

the thing that completely puzzles me is that fo3 has been entitled game of the year '08 when it's obvious that bethesda plays in a very different (read: lower) league than, for example, blizzard. it's a shame that the more objective comments concerning fo3 are coming from unknown bloggers...

    Gameplanet.co.nz previews Fallout 3

Oh the relief! I already feared a complex and thought-stimulating navigation system, such as a compass perhaps. having to think would spoil the immersion so badly. sorry, i don't honour my name :-(

    New CD-Action Preview

That's a tendency I already noticed when playing Oblivion. Everything is at your fingertips. Little arrows show you where to go, people tell you exactly what to do. Evenly distributed dungeons are never far away in case you are planning to grind some xp. that game was more like doing...

Gameplayer looks at Oblivion and Fallout 3

huh, didn't know that. Never owned an original box of fallout, got both games with game collection packages. perhaps that explains my neutral opinion concerning sex and PR :-) my point still stands. sex aint important in an RPG!
