Thats 1 of the things I like about NV, they have a ton of both racially and sexually adverse characters without having to go into a massive commentary on it. This is the very thing that keeps these characters grounded in reality; because even in the non-great-war present day we live in there...
Mine was an attempt at making a character that looks and acts a lot like myself, unfortunately my character tried to be a godlike everyman like in FO3 (yeah didn't work out so well). So I deleted him.
Fallout 3 was dumbed-down into a black and white choice between bad and good, Fallout New Vegas makes you question your actions even beyond the ending. Search the FO3 forums and you'll find tones of questions about massive plot holes in FO3.
Also, may I remind you that Fallout 3 was only...

Do you think Harold could possibly make a cameo (or maybe return??) in NV? There are theories that seeds have sprouted other Harold throughout the wasteland. I know he of course hasn't made an appearance so far, but what about DLC?
Read on the WIKI.
You need to be over level 12 to buy it from anywhere other than the Crimson Caravan. At the CC you have to be level 16, so my guess is it appears more often there.
Just because he said he didn't intentionally do it doesn't mean they won't take advantage of it. Also, from what hes saying it appears that he is speaking of the areas beyond the Nellis Air, south of searchlight airport, east of The Fort, etc.
Looks like your right. The Great Western Divide does look pretty epic (even though its in california, a place that should have already been explored in FO1 or 2....
However, it appears that The Burned Man is getting his own DLC as well. So we might also see the Grand Canyon on the legion...
I was wandering today and decided to stand on top of the cars at "Canyon Wreckage". Holy shit theres a lot of wasteland behind there, but strangely, although the spray paint reads "The Divide" I don't see the Grand Canyon...
