Eurogamer previews Fallout 3 yet again

Yes, because that makes all the difference  If you pick locks, you're entering through a door that the owner of a building intended you not to go through. If you approach from the direction of that door and the building is occupied, I would at least expect a "Where the fuck did you come...

Josan12's new Fallout 2 animations showcase

Let alone which, the sheer amount of work the guy must have put in to these new animations is seriously impressive.

    Fallout 3 giant action figures

That picture of them in the warehouse is pretty damn cool, but I'm another that's disgusted at what this must have cost. That's thousands of dollars that could have been poured back in to development. You know, like hiring a decent animator or buying a mo-cap studio; maybe even a Euphoria...

PC Gamer interviews Todd & Emil

I know there's multiple perks with multiple levels, but can you honestly see someone putting 19 levels in to something like Strong Back? For me, the increased availability of perks trivialises them, encouraging a "Jack of all trades" style of play. They lose that special charm this way.

PC Gamer interviews Todd & Emil

Good interview which revealed a lot of information, but it still just served to highlight just how moronic some of the design decisions were. Let's take perks, traits and level caps. A level 20 cap is good. And they got the reasoning for it: it means you can't experience everything in one...

    Fallout 3 Hands-On #8

Yeah, it's also to do with a lot of people reading these sites through RSS readers, and generally, the articles stop "before the break", forcing you to click through to the site in order to read the rest of the article.

PC Gamer US Lays Hands on Fallout 3, and Shacknews too

Why does everybody seem to forget about Prey when the topic of killing kids comes up? That got rated "M", and I believe the argument isn't about Fallout 3 getting a "R" rating, but rather an "AO" one.

    Fallout 3 first footage

The ragdoll physics do indeed look terribly outdated, but any game with ragdoll physics that doesn't also include the Euphoria engine is going to look bad now the general public have experienced GTA IV.

    Fallout 3 first footage

Oh, by the way, I'm depressingly certain that this junk is going to sell ridiculously well. They really have nailed that Gears of War look, and the lowest common denominator will lap this up like manna from heaven.

    Fallout 3 first footage

I had my suspicions even before seeing these two videos, but it's been confirmed now: Does anybody else think that the environment is far too busy and full of meaninglessly placed crapola? Yes, I know it's post-apocalyptic, but this doesn't look like the blasted fragments of civilisation; it...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Okami on the Wii. Captivating, gorgeous and charming. Proof that good graphics doesn't necessarily mean high-tech. If you like the 3D Zelda games (Ocarina of Time, Windwaker and Twilight Princess), you'll love Okami. Can't recommend this highly enough. Would post some screenshots, but...

Fallout 3 Officially Banned in Australia

But that's the point: you generally get covered in all manner of objectionable bodily fluids, and it's an unpleasant experience overall, but there's no doubt you're going to succeed.

Fallout 3 Officially Banned in Australia

Nice to see Bodybag deftly skipping over point 1 in his quote. For those of you who may have missed it, here's the dritical line: Christ, it's like taking candy from retards.

Fallout 3 Officially Banned in Australia

"Extremely stupid"? Are you forgetting that Bethesda have been stung by the whole user-created content thing before? Given that precedent, you can guarantee that if they did release the SDK, if a user did use it to make kids killable, Bethesda's Fallout 3 would immediately get slapped with...

Fallout 3 Officially Banned in Australia

Oh don't get me wrong; I think Australia's stance on gaming and censorship is reprehensible, but at the same time I'm not going to deny that the prospect of Bethesda having to spend more money to get the game through the censors doesn't make me happy. As far as I'm concerned, and especially...

Fallout 3 Officially Banned in Australia

Nice that you registered just to put words in my mouth.

Fallout 3 Officially Banned in Australia

Not good news for the Australian games industry or freedom of speech, but I'm absolutely over-fucking-joyed that this is going to hit Bethesda where it really hurts: Their wallet. They're going to have to spend money editing the content, then they're going to have to pay to re-submit the game...

    Bethesda's Fan Interview #2

And Myth, Marathon, lots of different games have had great stories. But in the context of an RPG? Taking advantage of gaming's unique attributes to explore narrative? That's why I said it should be a golden rule. Golden rules are there to aspire to.

    Bethesda's Fan Interview #2

Instead of coming out with pithy flames in an attempt to look clever, how about you debate why it's not a good rule, hmmmm?

    CD-Action magazine plays Fallout 3

Let me guess, you didn't play a Bungie game prior to Halo. If you had, there's no way you'd include them in your list. Even modern Bioware is a very rough prospect compared to the Baldur's Gate days. Rockstar are the only company on your list that deserve my respect.
