One REALLY disappointing thing about this election is that if you look close enough, it becomes clear that this election was a referendum against homosexuals. The gay marriage issue was played up heavily, and the bible-thumping bigots in rural areas got together with their fellow congregations...

Well if it's any consolation Ashmo, only a little more than half of American voters voted for Bush...

I haven't lived in my parents' basement since college :) For the record, I'm 40, own a very nice house, have a beautiful wife, 2 cars, and a job as a game programmer. And Episode III looks to be the movie I've been waiting for since Return of the Jedi. So pardon me for looking forward to it :)

Technical issues like camera viewpoint aren't difficult to implement. It has to be planned early of course -- because art assets, particularly interiors, need to be designed appropriately. But it's not outside the capabilities of ANY 3D graphics engine. Everything else is primarily an issue...

Gnidrologist, it simply means that we plan to re-use Oblivion code in other games. When you start talking about an "engine" it gets tricky, as Oblivion is comprised of a large number of SDK's, API's and game systems, and in some sense you could call some of THOSE "engines". It's a vague word...

Hehe I've seen stranger things during development ;) But the screenshots in the article are not hand-posed. Like I said, you'll see :)

It's posed by hand, but it is actual game art. The armor, horse, dude, etc. actually look that good in-game. There's a bunch of screenshots in the article, too -- you'll see.
