    The Escapist: Junktown Dog

Dogmeat definitely wasn't useless. His knockdown ability was awesome. If he sequenced after his target, than the guy would still be down when your turn came around, and then you have a 95% chance at his eyes. That alone makes him deadly, the fact that he attacks like 15 times a turn didn't hurt...

    Jeff Gardiner on aliens

True, but since you can't call shots with a burst fire weapon, the chances of a leg specific critical is unlikely.

...blasphemy. Dogmeat can do anything! (Except perhaps forcefields. Not really a fan of them.)

Bethesda: "No one can match us"

I sometimes wonder if Bethesda intentionally leaves massive bugs in there so that patches can add an element of replayability. I mean, their plots have no depth, and their character design systems allow everyman characters to max out everything and become a jack of all trades, and their quest...

...why does that spacesuit have cut off arms? Kind of defeats the point of a spacesuit if the arms end at the elbows, no?

    Jeff Gardiner on aliens

It's possible he was in combat the entire floor. Even once you kill The Master himself, you have the mutant sentrys, the eyebots, and I believe a few robed straglers back closer to the elevator who would keep you in combat. Still, getting crippled limbs from gatling lasers is extremely rare...

    Jeff Gardiner on aliens

I'm about two hours into The Pitt, and so far I think I actually like it better than any other part of the game. The NPCs are a bit shallow (everyone tells me they're not interested, but interested in what?), but the design is fairly cohesive, which you can't really say for the Capital...

I'd actually like to see a world of mole rats. Mole rat architecture, mole rat furniture, mole rat hats.

Fallout 3 guide creation #5: Quests

The flowchart things sounds stupid. Like it was designed for children. "You talked to the sheriff! Here's a gold star! Keep questing and you might get some candy!"

    GFW on Fallout fans

Why is it that criticizing a game based on a few negative elements is wrong, but criticizing an entire community based on a few negative elements is acceptable?

    InsideGamer previews Fallout 3

Beyond just the reviewer, I admire the balls of a fairly large, seemingly respected site for not just towing the line, and giving an outlet for open, but dangerous, distention. Website, I salute thee.

    RPGVault Fallout 3 preview

The Elder Scrolls have never been "games on rails". You might get hand held through an inflexible main quest, but calling it a game on rails is a bit of an exaggeration. It definitely does strive for a sandbox style of play, though unfortunately they need to put something in their sandbox other...

    RPGVault Fallout 3 preview

A sequel should never be judged on it's merits alone, it has an owness to improve upon the games it is following. In that regard, while many will wait and see whether it stands alone as a good game, evidence has been presented that suggests that it will be different enough from the original...

    Fallout 3 on XBox live

It doesn't matter that it doesn't cost much money, it shouldn't cost any money. It takes zero dollars to reformat an image and crop it to fit the X-Box boundaries, and can probably be done in five seconds. So why charge for it? If you want to foster a community then demanding them to buy in to...

    GGL previews Fallout 3

It's amazing how previews can wander from "Something to revitalize the roleplaying genre" to "something for shooter fans who want a change of pace" from one site to the next.
