Fallout website up and Vision Statement revealed

The number 1 item - violence - is interesting because in the doc, it talks about groin and eye shots, both of which are absent in FO3 :)

What are the names of those tape reels?

actually, it's research for something I'm doing. All shall be revealed in time!

What are the names of those tape reels?

Yeah, those are they - thanks. Just gotta determine which name is the more proper one, or which I want to use :)

What are the names of those tape reels?

Hi all, I'm after the name of those big tape reels - or wheels - that you see in maybe an ISP, or a large data centre. Kind of like huge tape decks, for the really, really big hard drives. It's for something I'm working on, but I can't think of the name - do people know what I mean? Cheers

    The Rybicki Maneuver

Cough cough, been there, done that. In a slightly less researched fashion, I'll grant you. Neat article, I hope it gets some attention, though we're relying on games journalists to report it. If there's one thing the recent spate of FO3 previews has shown, it's the nasty state games...

    Fallout 3 at E3 - Golem.de

The descriptive text in Fallout was great. It added something, rather than being limiting.

    RPGCodex gathers Fallout 3 quotes

I find this embarassing, on behalf of codex rather than anything else. These are carefully picked quotes from games preveiws we've already established are as biased as can be. They're not even developer quotes. I really don't think this says much apart from declaring the codex to be as biased...

    Fallout 3 at E3 - NMA/SC interview

Personally I like it. And I like the idea of tuning in to the enemy's frequencies, provided it's integrated well.

Liam Neeson's Role Gets Homeland Recognition

disturbs me to see fallout go from niche and cult to popular and mainstream, regardless of the 3 in front of the name. course, if the game's good, im' happy it's out there making money, but...

    Fallout 3 at E3 - GWN

Now that's some funny violence! It sounds like they might be overdoing the death scenes. In FO, it was a semi rare occurance unless you had that one trait selected, which was a fun easter egg as much as anythign else. And I still miss the tactical elements of blinding someone - could have...

    Fallout 3 at E3 - GameSpy

Yeah, love that quest. Good, evil, and neutral response. Lovely. That ain't what I call moral ambiguity, guys. To be fair, on second thoughts, there were some pretty clear cut choices like that in FO. I just like to see evil not being so evil, and good not being so good. Maybe I'm thinking...

    Fallout 3 at E3 - RPGamer Q&A

Well, true enough. But it was yet another way to solve quests - seems recently people have just talked about stealth, combat, diplomacy, whereas many of the quests in fallout had many more options. Still, I just don't like dialogue being reduced to vanilla.

    Fallout 3 at E3 - RPGamer Q&A

Heh, yet another unique aspect of Fallout eroded. First INT-based speech, now the differences gender opened up, which included new content and different ways to do quests. These previews are fast turning me into a cynic.

    Fallout 3 at E3 - Infuze

It's betting odds on yer dad being the main baddie, or his right hand man. The whole idea of a father figure annoys me, it's already a cliche and been done to death. Of course, I'd love to be pleasantly surprised by Bethsoft making a new twist on it, but I have a feeling it'll be a 'luke i'm...

    Fallout 3 at E3 - Infuze

love it. next-gen clearly means fewer skills, less dialogue options, less character options, shorter game-length and simplified combat. Oh, and more pixel shaders. I don't mean to be such a cynic, but games journalism - quite aside from what I think of FO3, which I'm still ambiguous about but...

    Fallout 3 at E3 - PlayFeed

Comment on different character races probably a typical gaming journo mistake. "-Some of the same voice actors as Oblivion (you’ll recognize them), but Bethesda devs PROMISE better dialogue acting. From what I saw, it was better, but still slow and overacted" That's an interesting comment...

Fallout 3 at E3 - RPGFan and GamersInfo

I'm extremely concerned about the goodie-goodie, evil or neutral choices, the playing it cool or being obnoxious. I WANT A REASON FOR MAKING THOSE CHOICES. I want 'evil' to be morally justifiable so it's just a different way of doing the same situation. I want obnoxious to be justified by the...

    RPGVault Fallout 3 preview

Two things concern me. Lesser of the conerns: stuff lying about in barrels. A pretty lame gaming device. Second - this megaton thing seems quite clear cut good and evil. Really, really bad for fallout. I want moral justification for doing either of the options, or something else entirely. A...

    Game Revolution previews Fallout 3

I like the idea that each NPC has his own personal schedule, but I'll believe that when I see it. Still unclear about viewpoint - typical game journalism really. Bridge between FPS and RPG is extremely, extremely worrying, but again, this is from the mouth of a games journalist who has...

Fallout 3, who is this for?

Well, I honestly think there's some positive amongst it all. The way the PR is being done is pretty nasty, and that stirs up a lot of hostile feelings - I can only hope Bethsoft change their attitude here. But the game looks a lot better than FOBOS. The robot scenario isn't that bad, and there...
