Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

I just made it to the EPA last night, and I seem to have found a bug. Everything works fine when I crawl through the ventilation shafts and get to the first room. However, when I get onto the elevator, and try to go to other rooms in the EPA, I get an "application error" and the game crashes...

Fallout 2 mod Fallout 2 Restoration Project Discussion (ideas/suggestions)

I have an idea for the Sierra Army Depot. It might be nice to be able to get the motivator you need to "repair" the brainbot for Skynet without having to fight an entire level worth of guard bots. Specifically, I'm thinking two things could potentially be done: 1) If you have a high...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project Gameplay Thread

Yeah, that was the reason. I was getting stuck on finding evidence on the corrupt caravan guy (which I was eventually able to do) and tried to just skip ahead a quest. Guess I can't do that. I'm in New Reno, now. Really enjoying this mod...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project Gameplay Thread

Me again... I'm in Broken Hills, but I seem to have run into a problem. I can't complete the mission person quest. I go into the tunnels, but the bodies just aren't there. Has the location of the bodies been moved in this mod? Or, do I need to do something else before they show up...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project Gameplay Thread

I have another gameplay fix for future versions of this mod. After I freed Sulik's sister, I decided that I don't have the firepower, or the skills, to free the slaves in the main pen. So, I decided to make a run for it. To my surprise, I was automatically transported to the Primitive...

    OXM article excerpts

Was it ever established that every ghoul came from the Necropolis Vault? If radiation is indeed the cause, I'd expect there to be ghouls from other sources as well. Most of the ghouls I talk to in F1 and F2 don't discuss where they "originated" from. It's possible that the "core region" in...

    Rank your important PA careers

Ideally, I'd say that "respected authority figures" should also have expertise in some of the other areas that you list as important. There's no reason that a leader can't help out in another way, as well. Also, it might be nice to have some educators around. You know - just to make sure...

Unconfirmed information from the OXM coverage

No SPECIAL number crunching? I hope I'm misunderstanding this... Does this mean that we won't be dumping individual points into ST, PE, EN, CH, IN, AG, and LK? That, instead, we'll just "choose" some of those elements to be "good" at, without any specific numeric value assigned to them...

Agreed. I've just started playing Killap's mod, but I'm already amazed by it. And, I haven't even hit any of the "entirely new" areas that have been added, like the Primitive Tribe and the EPA. Personally, I don't plan on buying Fallout 3 upon release. I will probably eventually buy it...

I tend to agree with you, Sorrow. Perhaps I'm just overly pessimistic, but it just seems like too huge a task for a group of modders to do on their own. I'm looking forward to all of the neat Fallout/PA mods and fan games that are in the works now, but, honestly... I've seen a lot of...

Okay, thanks. What a simple solution. Now I feel like a damn fool. Thanks again, though.

You can? I didn't even realize that there were rat tunnels in the Den. Unless the mod adds some, the only ones that I knew about were the ones back in Klamath.

    Ground Zero update

This does look fairly interesting. I hope it turns out to be a good game. I need to start keeping track of the fan made RPG mods/games that are in production out there. It seems like they're the only way I'll be able to find decent non-FPS games. There are a few that NMA has covered that...

I doubt that would happen. I've long given up on Van Buren. The only way we'll ever see anything even remotely close to it is if a dedicated group of fans decides to do a Van Buren mod to an existing game.

Fallout 2 Restoration Project Gameplay Thread

Thanks for your help guys. I guess I'll just have to hunt down some explosives. Unfortunately, I haven't seen Tubby or Flick carrying any yet. I agree with Darek - it seems like Vic should give you the key to his back room when you talk to him. Otherwise, you're forcing a player who does...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project Gameplay Thread

This seems like a really great mod. Started playing it last night, and I'm thrilled by the new additions to the game. It's sure nice to be able to get those damn, thieving kids off the streets in the Den. One question, though: Is there any way to get the radio parts that Vic needs without...

    Aliens: Colonial Marines announced.

I read about this game not too long ago. Even though I do wish there were a little more non-FPS games on the market, it looks like fun, and I will probably buy it. Would you believe, though, that I've never seen the Alien movies? Guess I'd better get caught up before this game is released...

    Lamest Fallout 3 Ideas Ever:

One of the worst ideas I've ever heard was posted on a fan forum back in 1999 or 2000: Include a "sex mini-game" that you go to instead of the "fade out" when your character has sex with someone. I think we can feel safe about that not making it in, though, especially given Beths reluctance...

Blast from the past: june 1996 project GURPS preview

Wow, that was really cool to read. Thanks for posting it! I personally don't mind the fact that GURPS was dumped for SPECIAL. Really, I didn't play role playing games much (or at all) before Fallout, so I wouldn't have known what GURPS was anyway. And, while I recognize that it does have...

    In terms of canon?

Actually, it's been established what the world is like east of California: Harsh waste lands with huge, radioactive twisters. That is the mid-west after WWIII, and it serves to establish the reason as to why Cali is so isolated from the rest of the continent. You can get that information...
