    Full Body Shot

That's alright, I can understand why he makes this assumption. By 'hope' I was suggesting this was a (small) breath of the isometric/birdview perspective direction, which we (mostly) all hope remains a possibility in future FO gaming. The intent was obviously to poke bethesda with the idea -...

And what does that have to do with *anything* I said?

that angle almost looks like made for a birdview, just need to be scaled down. tiny spec of hope?

GDC panel; the viability of PC gaming

Well, to download console games you need a pc. This extra step might be stopping enough piracy for it to make better business. But apart from that, you're right. It's not piracy that is killing the pc market. Blaming piracy is simply shifting blame onto something that is completely...

More on Fallout 3 from Todd and Pete

Why have the community breathing down your neck now when you can wait until the day it no longer makes any difference... Besides, Bethesda probably doesn't need an early publicity campaign to succeed with the TES series or fallout.

    Sawyer on cRPG mechanics

RPG is a bit of a loose term. "Role playing games is a genre where participants assume the roles of fictional characters and collaboratively create or follow stories. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterization, and the actions succeed or fail...

RPGWatch feature: The Great Debate: RT or TB?

And another quote often heard "just put speed up full and tb is fun" I find these rather self defeating. I would prefer a CTB variant for many reasons, but one of them surely is that we're actually able to see the action unfold. Making a badly sped up TB system that practically "skips" the...

Bethesda on the Escapist - The Right Direction

If they feel the fan community as a threat then they'll release 2-5 blurry xbob before the advertisement campaign begins (very close to release), at best.

    A closer look at Gamebryo

Xerxes, I can't guarantee that they won't majorly change a console game to favour pc gamers, but I am willing to place a fairly large bet that they won't. There's a lot of things that can be done in 2 hours, and/or not very long, that would make it more Fallout and such, but it would be the...

    A closer look at Gamebryo

Even if they were to use a 3rd person bird view like nwn or so, the game would still be horribly altered as you would be controlling your character(s) with arrowkeys rather than mouse. Remember this has to stick on a console.

    Just passing...

I 2nd that motion. Very cool style. If you'll allow me to critize just a tiny bit - most comics either have no colors or no pensil quality, but yours have both, so I think it's slightly sad when some of the images doesn't merit much attention when you put so much work into them all. Some art...

    Bourgeoisie updated

Well if the rest of the graphics looks as good as the first 4 ish screenshots on the main page then I'll say that's top quality commercial stuff right there, don't get much better, crisp and sweet and, well, crisp and sweet... As long as the gameplay works well too of course I think you got a...

    Pete Hines Talks to IGN

What is required to make a fallout sequel true to fallout will not be turn based, nor will it be SPECIAL... but if there is no bird view in some form or another be it isometric or not, it will be such a quantum leap from the originals that it won't be reckognized as of the fallout franchise at...

Interplay announces Fallout 3 licensing deal with Bethesda

That the Fallout title is alive, is probably good. And Morrowind for what it's worth is pretty good too... But at this point, I'd dare say we're looking at a 2007, 3d, 1st/3rd (+/- switchable), real time game, in a giant, empty, 95% pointless, seemless world with interlevel/map loading, but...

    The Game

In a bird view you don't really need to make round corners with 20+ polys, you know... You can mostly get away with very few and a lot of the smoothness is in the texture and bumpmapping... You can often just make a 90 degree break and still make it look round from a distance... And most wall...

    The Game

this is hard to do in 3d? Hard as in tough on the fps count? (frames per second) I'm pretty sure there are (almost) more polygons on the fo3 outside-prison screenshot than the model of the cathedral... It might be the same cathedral model but it doesn't look particularly detail-decorated...
