    PSM3 Fallout 3 platform comparison

Being an owner of a PS3, 360, and a few PC's I have to say that consistently, the 360 games look better than the PS3's games. I'm not saying the PS3 isn't capable of equaling or even trumping the 360 in graphical prowess, but in practice it seems that most games look and run better on the 360...

    Fallout 3 review: PSM3

In the original Fallout (and even 2 in comparison to 3) these elements were done with much more subtlety than FO3. Fallout never really beat you over the head with the Sci-Fi goofiness and it made the world seem like it could be real, even with the giant mutated scorpions, ghouls, and super...

    Fallout 3 review: PSM3

I see where you're coming from, but in this case what he says is pretty much true. The dialog is just as dumb and uninteresting as Oblivion's, but now it's written in long winded green text instead of keywords. Granted, sometimes there's a glimmer of genius in FO3, but it's marred by the...

    PSM3 Fallout 3 platform comparison

I've AB'ed the demo version of Bioshock for the PS3 to the X Box 360 version and there is a DRASTIC difference in graphic quality between the two systems. I don't know if it's just because the PS3 version was built from the ground up by another development company or what, but the PS3 version...

    Fallout 3 review: PSM3

Oh no, I've said it before in another thread. I was not a big fan of Oblivion, but after playing Fallout 3 I feel that Oblivion was a better game with more stuff to do. That's a testament to how dull Fallout 3 can be. There are a few moments here and there that are fun, but I spent most of the...

    Emil comments on V.A.T.S.

Well I've played Fallout 3 and I can say without a doubt that I think VATS has far more flaws than the real turn-based system in the originals. I didn't need to read the forums to tell me the first game was good and I certainly don't need to read the forums to KNOW that the new game is...

    Emil comments on V.A.T.S.

Of course, Black Isle made much better games than Bethesda. You can argue about that until you're blue in the face, but Black Isle and its progenitors were far more talented than anyone at Bethesda. I don't care about how the industry changed, what makes a good game at its core has never changed...

    Emil comments on V.A.T.S.

The bottom line is that the game plays as if the math doesn't mean anything. I think Emil took this philosophy to heart when "designing" Fallout 3, because it plays exactly like he says, with the exception of the part where he says the regular FP mode plays like Deus Ex. It's a bit on the jerky...

    Emil comments on V.A.T.S.

I mentioned having played it on a friend's modded 360 in another thread, but yes I have a 360 as well as a PS3 and a PC. So my experience comes from the 360 version and I have no idea if the PC version's interface fares any better.

I got some pleasure out of IV, but even Vice City was more entertaining for its time, in my opinion 8-)

Now I know you must be trolling. GTA IV was crap compared to SA and Vice City. The story was cliched and money was utterly useless. Of course the graphics were better, so maybe that did it for you?

But wait!! Look at that!! It's called Fallout 3 so that certainly doesn't imply that it comes third in a series of games. Also, I've heard it from Pete Hines and Todd Howard that this game is meant as a proper sequel to the other Fallout games. Of course, that makes me an NMA drone though right?

And you'd buy that wouldn't you? You'd agree that it's a proper sequel to the originals also? And yours does? You win!!!

    CanardPC's almost-review

I'm sure if you look around for it you can find it, I won't talk about it on here out of respect for the rules of the forum, but once you read it you'll understand. That's cute, but it's not much of an argument.

    CanardPC's almost-review

I think you missed the point there, which is typical of everyone who STILL thinks Bethesda can do no wrong. It takes what was important to what made the original Fallout games feel the way they did and does away with it in order to be an "everything to everyone" game. There is no more dynamic of...

    CanardPC's almost-review

Well Fallout 3's armor and weapons require a minimal effort to get and there's no "wow" factor anymore. It's worse than Oblivion in that regards and not even close to the way Fallout 1 and even 2 handled item rarity. Even the Fat Man is a fairly simple item to come by and it mainly just serves...

    CanardPC's almost-review

I could see how they'd want to give an incentive to wear the numerous armor drops in the game. As it is, you can pretty much get any item, with a few minor exceptions, within the first hour or two of playing the game, so they might as well make it so that there's a reason to not use the power...

    CanardPC's almost-review

Well, I was at a friend's house who just so happens to have a modded X Box 360 and the game that I've been waiting years to play just so happened to be sitting in the system, so yes, while I don't condone piracy and would have never done this on my own, my willpower failed me and I broke down...

    CanardPC's almost-review

Face it, the game sucks. Anyone still holding out for hopes that it won't can just ask someone who's played it already who isn't in Bethesda's back pocket. I personally refuse to pirate any game, but I have played it and everyone's worst fears are true and then some. This article is pretty much...
