    Fallout 76 announced!

Fallout: Nuts & Bolts. Christ Gizmo, you act like they calculated a way to piss fans off with Fallout 3. There is an intact SPECIAL system, most of the skills, many of the perks, and a modest attempt at continuity. Credit where credit is due, at least they kept something from the classics...

    Fallout 76 announced!

Hey folks, we here at Bethesda just wanted to provide you with a better alternative to modding. Starting today, all add-ons for Fallout 3 and New Vegas must go through our official Creation Club. There will be a $5 surcharge applied to all uploads and downloads, that way we can pay for our...

    Best quest in F:NV?

Assume the position. Also, I wish there were more quests like X-13 in New Vegas.

    Fallout 76 announced!

@cronicler Personally I'd rather see 99.9% of a game's development resources go towards a focused goal, (in Fallout's case interactive quests that change based on character statistics,) but I mean hey, if you're going to include minigames, at least do them fucking right.

    Fallout 76 announced!

That's basically what I meant. There's a lot of Elder Scrolls. On the Fallout side I was mostly referring to character creation and the progression system, which is largely intact. Other statistics like Karma are also present. I'm not saying they were necessarily utilized properly, but they were...

How come Fallout 1 and 2 aren't more popular when New Vegas is?

Yeah seriously, I don't know of any games from that era, or even many now that have better cinematic narration than Fallout. That's literally one of the game's most memorable defining aspects. With a famous actor of all things. No idea what people are smoking, especially when there are plenty of...

    Fallout 76 announced!

Yeah, honestly I never really made that connection until now, but you are spot on. Fallout 3 played it relatively safe as far as sticking to classic Fallout and Elder Scrolls mechanics goes, so things like VATS and the house building mechanic went pretty unnoticed as optional distractions. Fast...

    Fallout 76 announced!

Ok, well then under that definition they can get rid of VATS. Just keep the part where it pauses the game, lets you target body parts, and makes those cool sounds. That shit is satisfying as hell and essentially all I care about. Whaaaat!? Everything I know is a lie. Day one DLC.

How come Fallout 1 and 2 aren't more popular when New Vegas is?

1000% agree. I actually don't think actor performance is the real reason people get the impression that the voices were bad in the classics. They were honestly quite good with a lot of professionals involved, as House pointed out. It's truthfully more a combination of poor sound editing and...

How come Fallout 1 and 2 aren't more popular when New Vegas is?

Compared to a lot of D&D style games, character creation is pretty simple, I'll give you that. I always thought that was one of Fallout's strengths. Fallout is also significantly better designed from the start compared to Fallout 2. Personally, I think the games would be easier to get into if it...

    Fallout 76

Didn't they already create a separate source of mutants in Fallout 3 with FEV being given to Vault Tech for use in Vault 87? This will be nothing new. East Coast mutants were never tied to the timeline of the Master. But I will reiterate, who the fuck cares what Bethesda writes at this point...

How come Fallout 1 and 2 aren't more popular when New Vegas is?

They totally are, but only once you're used to Interplay's specific brand of bullshit. Go find someone who has never played the games before and watch how they interact with the interface for the first time. You'll see what I'm talking about. Yeah, I play the first two games and I'm not much...

How come Fallout 1 and 2 aren't more popular when New Vegas is?

Smart phones, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter all have something Fallout severely lacks. Intuitive software design. The learning process users need to go through in order to fully understand a program is more widely understood today than it was in 1997. That's why a 3 year old can pick up...

    What happened to Fallout 5-75?

The same thing that happened to Windows 9, the Xbox 720, and Star Wars Battlefront 3.

    Fallout 76 announced!

Yeah, Bethesda might think they got away squeaky clean from Fallout 4, (and overall they probably did,) but they certainly damaged the trust in the brand that many had up to that point. I saw Fallout 4 had universally positive reviews, and everyone I knew was talking about it, so I spent more...

    Fallout 76 announced!

Oh right, because the Fallout titles are best known for their gritty scientific realism. Conceptually a hybrid action/turn-based combat system isn't horrible, and I personally find VATS to be pretty fun to use in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. The overall execution leaves a lot to be desired, though...

    Fallout 76

Yeah, you've got a point. If they ate up the blatantly exploitative consumer garbage that was Fallout 4, then I doubt much else would push them over the edge. I still think it's possible that a radical shift in gameplay now could lead to a small subset of Fallout fans existing who only like...

Would a 70's aesthetic fit Fallout?

I honestly just don't think anyone at Bethesda gives a fuck about quality or attention to detail at this point. They have eaten the apple of knowledge. Not only will a majority of consumers blindly buy anything based on brand recognition, but they will also relentlessly convince themselves and...

    Fallout 76

Plot twist. The classic Fallout RPG community and the modern Fallout exploration shooter fans join forces in their mutual hatred of both Bethesda and Fallout 76.
