Microsoft shuts down several Bethesda studios, merges others

So Avellone can win his libel lawsuit but his career is still damaged. Yay cancel culture.

Todd Howard suggests that they'll start on Fallout 5 soon

So if they start on it soon, are we looking at 5-6 years before they release a beta and pretend it's a full release? I mean, I don't really care, just curious. So many games to play these days, I wouldn't exactly be lining up to purchase.

My first post since 2018 and the fallout tv series

I have a friend who is in his 70's and has a lot of those games. I feel most of these would be just better as a video game. Ex. Hearts of Iron 4, Stellaris, EU IV. If we're talking board games, Fallen Land is pretty decent. It even has a post-apoc theme.

Notes on Fallout TV (Return to the Nolanverse complete, Review notes complete)

China can't be mentioned as an adversary, ever. Didn't you get the memo? See Red Dawn remake, the flap over Top Gun, the flap over the Houston NBA GM's comments, etc. They want that China middle class money.

My first post since 2018 and the fallout tv series

I played it and got bored. Not my kind of game. I'm a nasty traditional conservative and I like traditional games, not games that veer all over the place in their theme.

Well, that is the only time Marxism ever works, in fiction.

My first post since 2018 and the fallout tv series

I feel pretty prosperous and at peace. I would be happy to cut off funding for those wars. I am not sure we have a functioning representative democracy any longer, it's more of an oligarchy. The majority of the people don't want to send money to Israel and Ukraine, but money goes anyway. The...

And who abolished slavery? Liberals. 100 million+ in 100 years.

No one killed more people than Marxists. Love and selflessness indeed.

    EFAP on Fallout

Ah I see, it's the classic phrasing "red meat" to at least some of his audience. I guess he thinks it helps him make money. I feel if he was explicitly racist, gootube would demonetize him. Whatever the rules are for demonetizing, I think he's very aware of those. It's always comical to hear...

    EFAP on Fallout

I can't parse this. The Star Wars sequels are garbage because they crap on all the existing lore, they destroy existing characters, they destroy the entire meaning of the earlier trilogies. What does it have to do with the ethnic makeup of the actors? I am really not sure what you're trying to...

I wish we'd gotten to play Fallout 76's story before the Scorched

I tried once. They had a free weekend. This was a couple years ago when I finally played Fallout 3. I was wandering around for a while and thinking, "what the hell am I supposed to do?" I used to be a huge WoW player for a while, but with wife and kids, those days are done. I don't miss it at...

The first Season of the Fallout tv show is out

Fair enough. They certainly have heavy flaws. I do think if Hayden Christenson had been a better actor and the script was a bit better, Ep 3 could have been really, really good. He and Padme together just wasn't believable. Those 2 in Ep 2 were meme worthy. 1 was boring, 2 was popcorn fun, 3...

The first Season of the Fallout tv show is out

I used to serve tables at a local restaurant when Phantom Menace came out. A 10 year old kid who, with his mother, was a regular, came in, and was gushing that Phantom Menace was the greatest movie ever made. I could remember at the time thinking it was plodding, Jar Jar was extremely...

Five Common Misconceptions about Fallout: The Series

While that may be true, it's indisputably a critical event for Western Europe. The Dark Age was a thing, especially in the West. Consider, for example, Will Durant "The Age of Faith." where he discusses this time at length. The Eastern Empire did quite well preserving culture for centuries, and...

Five Common Misconceptions about Fallout: The Series

The Emperor was killed by the Goths in 378, and Rome was sacked in 410. If I'm right, that event prompted Augustine to write City of God. Also, for those who love ST:TNG, Picard wonders how Honorius felt when he saw the sack of the great city. (This is in the season finale of 3, when the Borg...

Five Common Misconceptions about Fallout: The Series

Capitalist except where they can override it when they feel it's important enough to do so. The problem in capitalism, communism, monarchy, etc. is the people. War never changes, etc.

Five Common Misconceptions about Fallout: The Series

What nonsense. There's been plenty of ecological problems in the Soviet Union or China. Also, what happened to not doing political arguments? Just can't help yourself, can you?

The Fallout TV show is way sexier than the games [Kotaku]

To me, BG2 was at least somewhat believable romance. In BG3, pretty much everyone will sleep with you unless you do horrific things. Seems unrealistic. I enjoyed the game as a whole but didn't find the romance in BG3 overly compelling.
