The Outer Worlds - New game RPG from Obsidian

I wasn't familiar with the term "hub-based" either, had to look it up just a few days ago. It's basically the type of game in which you have to return to a central location in order to advance in the game (e.g. to get other missions or to reach other maps/levels etc).

The Outer Worlds - New game RPG from Obsidian

The "ship" is not an actual ship, it's another map, which functions as the player's base or home and the star map, which by the way is NOT a location, cannot exist without it. Therefore the ship is the "hub" in the game. It doesn't really take any real damage and certainly not due to player...

The Outer Worlds - New game RPG from Obsidian

The ship in Mass Effect does not travel or engage in any sort of action. It's an illusion created by cinematic cutscenes, therefore it qualifies. In case you haven't played it before, you basically pick a "mission map" from a star map type of thing and the game places you on that map after...

The Outer Worlds - New game RPG from Obsidian

I wouldn't call Fallout and Fallout 2 a hub-based game. They both had an overworld map in which you can travel freely, without having to return to a central location (i.e. hub). The best example for a hub-based game I can think of is Mass Effect, in which the hub is your ship, the Normandy. If...

    Obsidian announcing The Outer Worlds?

FO4 fanboys have told me that a lot, and now it's Obsidian fanboys' turn by the looks of it. If I hated it, I wouldn't have created this very thread before everyone else in order to talk about it. I called it "shit" out of disappointment, although it's definitely gonna be mediocre. I thought it...

    Obsidian announcing The Outer Worlds?

Fair point. Except, the base game Fallout, was miles better than Bethesda's turd. Not to mention it was the original IP and not a superficial copy of it. Also, it was the same people & company who made FO2, for that reason I wouldn't call it a "mod".

    Obsidian announcing The Outer Worlds?

Ah, "hate", the typical fanboy expression... "If you don't like it, then you must hate it." So it's comparable to a 10 year old game mod then.

    The Outer Worlds information overload

Which has nothing to do with romance and CANNOT even be "half-assed" as these are NOT AO games. Most games even avoid nudity in order to reach a larger audience. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. There have been role-playing communities purely focusing on AO role play since...

    The Outer Worlds information overload

Do you think romance in say, DA:O was half-assed? What other aspects you'd rather have in terms of role-playing? Another offended millenial, I see. Not surprising.

    The Outer Worlds information overload

I'd support the idea, for their own sake.

    The Outer Worlds information overload

 Are you offended? Another millenial perhaps? I have no problem with the millenials as long as they don't flaunt their ignorance as if it's something to be proud of.

    The Outer Worlds information overload

IIRC you've claimed the opposite in some other thread, but yes, you are right, he doesn't. His bug ridden games are pretty much the handiwork of millienials.

    The Outer Worlds information overload

While this game is Cain and Boyarsky's vision, they didn't make it, as Boyarsky has indicated in an interview. The game, including the writing, is pretty much at the hands of millenials. We'll see how that'll turn out.

    The Outer Worlds information overload

The reason what I care about romance is not because I like it, in fact I loathe it, but that's an indication that there's some effort put into "role-playing" in a "role-playing" game. And nothing can be worse than being a clueless Millienial.

    The Outer Worlds information overload

48 Believe whatever you want idiot. (Yep, another Millenial gets blocked).

    The Outer Worlds information overload

Millenial logic: hugely popular = mainstream

    The Outer Worlds information overload

Go check the number of video game consoles sold per household since the late 90's, then you may have an idea about what "mainstream" means. If you really think Wolfenstein or Doom were "mainstream" games back then you are retarded. Neither consoles nor PCs were mainstream until the 2000's...

    The Outer Worlds information overload

You mean you were playing games for little kids such as Zelda and Mario when you weren't even a 10 year old, and somehow forget the fact that there may be different games for different age groups. Now fuck off.

    The Outer Worlds information overload

Bloody clueless Millenials. When you don't know something at least show some decency or just shut the fuck up.
