    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #36

About 15 hours in, I think I've discovered why the game is getting such universally good reviews: It's pretty good.

    Left 4 Dead gone gold

Except that I've connected to multiple servers from the browser, on purpose even. They've updated the demo several times since it was unlocked, in case you only tried it once or twice. UPDATE: Video of player controlled Tank gameplay

    Left 4 Dead gone gold

here's a sorta kinda workaround for the matchmaking: - enable the developer console in the keyboard options - type openserverbrowser in the console, hit enter - refresh server list There's a decent ammount of dedicated servers out there, which are approximately a billion times more...

Also: the demo kicks ass

    Left 4 Dead gone gold

Yeah, really. Nobody has a better track record for polish than Valve. Also, their track record for delays proceeds them by a million miles. Myounage - you do realize L4D was supposed to be out in 2007, right? So now you're gonna complain about a month, and because Valve is smart and knows how...

    Fallout 3 tidbits

I hard one freeze that I had to force quit from task manager from, and one nasty lockup that forced a hard boot, other than that it runs like buttah. I mean, it's certainly no STALKER (or, god forbid, STALKER CS [shiver]).

Because if that ever happened, how could anyone expect to cope? /slitwrists

    More Fallout 3 tidbits

Why do people constantly target my Mario heartstrings when they're cooking up a Fallout 3 analogy? It's time for a new angle, Stone Monkey :|

    Fallout 3 - First Mods

Why not call it a global mortal NPC mod, and at least mask your intentions? FREAK

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #15

PSH, 9 of those points come from the ability to make IEDs (amirite?).

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #14

That doesn't sound funny at all, really. The only bug I've encountered so far is that remapped keys don't seem to work correctly - specifically the Pipboy key. Sucks for us draconian gamers that refuse to conform to THE MAN'S wasd layout. Arrow keys forever! Speaking of bugs...

    Gamasutra kills children

I played the game all the way through. They aren't children until the last part of the game. You know, the part where you can't harm them. For the bulk of the game they're abominations, and even then you can't just kill them on-screen outright.

    Gamasutra kills children

For the last GOD BLESSED TIME already: 1). Fallout 1&2 were both released prior to Columbine (this is actually not a trivial aside, believe it or not). 2). The Little Sisters in Bioshock are not children, and you don't actually get to see the player "killing" them. I thought we were...

    Bethesda on their SecuROM usage

Fists clenched, eyes welling with RRRRRAAAAA oh wait, this is good news.

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #9

You know, this game is no Fallout, but honestly I'm enjoying it more than Fallout 2 so far. Heck, I might even finish this one!

    Fallout 3 Launch a success

Say, did you make that webcomic yourself?

    Washington Post on Fallout 3

Bethesda bought the Washington Post? Does that mean they get Slate, too?

    Edge Online interviews Tim Cain

Well I think we can all agree his comments aren't negative enough. Did Bethesda bribe him, too?
