The best Moral Dilemma in the series?

...and not kill the Necropolis ghouls by stealing their water purification chip?

Fallout 1 or Fallout New Vegas?

It's not that; it's how it is in the proper series. The later FO2 devs just didn't understand the setting. Most of their special encounters were goofy, and none of them should ever have existed inside of a town or anywhere that the local population would plausibly know of them. That stuff is...

Fallout 1 or Fallout New Vegas?

IMO Wild Wasteland [perk?] should not have been optional; it should have been baked into the world setting, and never pointed out to the player.

Fallout 1 or Fallout New Vegas?

There is no practical difference—it's a character personality. Each would approach the same situation in their own way; same with Indiana Jones, same with Gandalf the Grey. One can play each of them in distinct character.... and each played as the other would be out of character. That's the...

Fallout 1 or Fallout New Vegas?

For myself, I have never had a problem with pre-fab characters, so long as there is a reasonably defined personality, and a backstory to play; that's how one can know the character's probable behavior. The difference between Snake Plissken, Marty Mcfly, and Irwin Fletcher is all in the...

    Fallout renewed for another season

Often times a company will do something intentionally anti-consumer to avoid later expense; like having an onerous everything-on/opt-out configuration rather than deal with customer support calls for when something doesn't work because it was (wisely) switched off. It saves them money.

    Fallout renewed for another season

So... does not having a chat feature save them the gargantuan hassle of policing the player chats?

    Fallout: London

Isn't the dialog system in FO4 hard coded to four choices? (...possibly two plus an effective yes & no? ) I have not played the game, but I got that impression from what I've read.

What laser musket? Is it anything like my 15 year old FO3 mod?

The Lore of Fallout world but... out of the America

___________________ Actually I did think that a European Fallout set in or near a vault under the ruined remains of a US Airforce base in Italy could work; similar to the setting in the book, and film(s) Catch~22.

    Americanization of Fallout by Bethesda

Not in the situation of just a few hundreds of people. If the supply is reasonably finite the —money— so called, can be whatever they agree to accept. (The backing is that they know its trade value with others looking to trade goods.) In the case of bottle caps, IIRC one cap == one litre from...

    Americanization of Fallout by Bethesda

Why would anything have to be issued or manufactured? Any metropolis has pre-war bus tokens, arcade tokens, all kinds of coins in storage. Krugerrands are (essentially) solid gold. They would exist in currency exchanges, coin shops, and safety deposits. Cities also have bottling companies; far...

    Americanization of Fallout by Bethesda

Bull :seriouslyno: It was local (and unique) to Southern California. In DC (or any major city) they should have used something local and feasible; perhaps something locally significant. In a major city they would have banks, currency exchanges (Krugerrands), bus or arcade tokens; not sharp...

    Americanization of Fallout by Bethesda

This is because Interplay sold them the pot of sauce without including the recipe for the sauce—which by that point they did not have. It's like a restaurant selling the last pot of stew from the fridge made by a chef that quit months before... They don't know what's in it, or how it's prepared...

    Americanization of Fallout by Bethesda

I wish I could believe that. I was on the Bethsoft forums for years [30k posts, and not a moderator]. I do believe that those people were not stupid or naive, and deliberately chose to alter the setting into what they offered, for marketing purposes. It's just simpler to say its the future, but...
