    Americanization of Fallout by Bethesda

They said that it was not set in the 50's (everyone here knows it's set post 2077), but set in the future that they —thought— would happen. Fallout of 2077 in major cities should be just behind (before) The Jetsons —not quite advanced enough for aerial highway systems, and houses on thousand...

    Americanization of Fallout by Bethesda

Wasteland was, but according to the devs that made it, Fallout was the future as expected by the 1950's pop culture. It was the 'world of tomorrow', as opposed to Commando Cody serials for example.

    Americanization of Fallout by Bethesda

There were devs on FO3 who had not played the games; some had never heard of them. I believe that Bethesda (management) intentionally changed the world setting to (further :( ) simplify it for the mass audience. Rather than being the 50's anticipated future, they made it a future obsessed with...

I created hundreds of awesome pictures from the wasteland using Midjourney v5

Several Image generating AI services offer free models, or free credits (per day, or per month). Amass a few hundred credits before needing the final imagery to replace the temporary placeholder art. It's what I do. nightcafe.studio https://labs.openai.com/

    Fallout 2 mod Fallout: Yesterday

... Only if it's clean. A mechanics friendly behavior might be to have a greater chance to hit adjacent entities; from reflection.

Bethesda vs Obsidian power armor adaptation

It's fairly easy to add/remove/replace modular parts of the player model.

Bethesda vs Obsidian power armor adaptation

Lexx made an ADV PA mod that was reasonable, and published it!—which is more than I did: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/4641/? I made one, but just... stopped at some point, and forgot about it. It's in my SIG. I actually started the model in Caligari trueSpace, before [begrudgingly]...

Bethesda vs Obsidian power armor adaptation

Of course. I can tell you that to do an accurate (and functional!) version of either original armor in-game is impossible —due to the requirement that the library of human movements be applied to those wearing the armor. They would have had to make PA wearers become similar to monster/animal...

    Fortnite Fallout teaser

I've never liked the Bethesda power armors. It's not because it's Bethesda, it is because they branded them as the earlier and later models, while the T-51 does not look like a design evolved from, or later into either of the other two. The others do not share its design aesthetic.

Dated art? Do you mean hand drawn? (or hand colored—or low quality [cheap] for pulp?) *or panel style? There are artist from that era who have not been surpassed. :smug:

The first ones, from the 70's; #1 is from '69, I believe.

I think that I have a lot of these already; from Humble. I have many of the original G1 Vampirella books in 1st editions. That's actually what came to mind, the Vampirella #1 Frazetta cover painting is the reason to have the book—the stories and interior artwork are terrible. :yuck:

Good art can make pathetic writing palatable, but poor art will render the best of tales intollerable.

Fallout 2 mod Steal mechanic tweaks

Does this mean that First Aid Books improve the Doctor skill? If so, this is not a good idea. First Aid (in Fallout) is effectively... generalized sports medicine; available to nurses, gym teachers, and those casually interested... available from consumer self-help books and magazines. It's...
