    Deadcities mod updated

The Deadcities, a post apocalyptic mod for the popular game Battlefield 1942, site has been updated with some news and a few nice screen shots. Here's a snippet:<blockquote>Our community of scavengers, sleazebags, punks, and wenches is growing quite rapidly as well. Our forums are booming...

    InXile acquires Wasteland

Yeah. If I remember correctly Interplay were the developers and EA were the publishers.

    Sawyer speaks out

About DAC and NMA. I can understand him saying that sometimes it seems everyone just respond in negative tones to all of his ideas, but it isn't true. some of his ideas are supported by people, and some are not. But saying that most of us are against him, and not reading the sites because of...

    More about unarmed combat

In this thread JE explained a little about how the unarmed combos will work in Van Buren, in reply to a post by our very own Odin.<blockquote>Odin: one question comes to mind, would a character know all the combos or would he learn them from others going through the game...

    Van Buren not moddable..

Well, I wouldn't say this is a big deal. I would much rather see them complete the game and spend every bit of time on it, then spend time making a good mapper. Fallout didn't have a mapper (at least for a long time, untill now), and it didn't distrub me at all.

JE talks about VB's target audience

Well, I don't think it can be done without hurting the TB balance. I never saw a game that has succeded in that, and if Van Buren pulls it off, it would surprise me. I'm not saying JE can't do it, but I don't think anyone can do it. And if it does turn out ok, what's the point? If the real...

JE talks about VB's target audience

JE Sawyer, project Van Buren's lead designer, made an interesting comment about Van Buren's target audience in this thread about real time combat in Fallout. <blockquote> The point, in case zealots want to ever accept it, is that your tastes are not the only tastes in the whole world. Really...

    Gifted trait follow up

This time, the discussion on the subject has shifted over to this thread on the IPLY boards. JE made a couple of posts that strike me as a little odd: <blockquote> "I think you need to start looking at the math again. First of all, you get seven stat points, not six. The points put into...

Steam? Water is far to valuable to be used in a steam engine.

    Sawyer talks about Gifted

Odin is right. A part of newsing is critisizing.

What are your RL tag skills?

This thread already exists in the general disscussion forum. My guess is you posted it here, someone moved it, and you didn't notice. I'll just lock this one, then.

Seeing How there will be less firearm ammo how about

You are right. But Fallout 3 is quickly losing it's 50's setting in favor of a 21st century marketting system.

    IPLY Board stuff..

Superior humor in Fallout 2? what? If you are saying it because Fallout 2 had monthy python encounters and such, you need to relook on the concept which is setting. Fallout 2 screwed with the setting. In Fallout, the 50's sci fi post apocalyptical setting was really strong. You can see it...

    Sawyer talks about Gifted

I still like the idea of the trait affecting the skills and not perks. Just because that makes the trait more interesting then a simple trade off, it makes you choose a certain way in which your charecter will be played.

What are your RL tag skills?

Well, throwing I guess would be number 1. I'm pretty good with it, I just threw some trash away, and I did it with totally no effort.

    Sawyer talks about Gifted

JE saywer, aka Ropekid, has posted his thoughts on the gifted trait we all grew to love. In this thread on the something awful forums, JE expresses his concern about the Gifted trait giving a little too much while taking a little too less: <blockquote> that trait is the most easily...

    IPLY Board stuff

I don't know... I don't like the idea of making things more logical and realistic while hurting the gameplay. Sure, a highwaymen won't be able to take 6 humans and a dog, but I would still like to do so. Imagine yourself playing a charismatic charecter and getting 4 followers, and then...

    Puuk on the announcement timing

Yes, and Team Fortress and Counter Strike also have a much larger potential (sales wise), probably. So, they are doing the right thing. And there still is a chance the game will be cancled like Jefferson.
