Or do they remain there until something happens? I've noticed they don't seem to disappear inside towns and building locations, but they sometimes disappear outside in the wasteland, and sometimes they don't for some reason.

This makes no sense, why can't you fly one??? I've loved the things since seeing one in Fallout 2, and there's no reason why you won't be able to fly one in F3 too. The in-game AI certainly has no problem using them to take off, land, fire a gatling laser and even unload Enclave troops!

In defense of the towns still standing after 200 years, note that the place is a desert now, and there are lots of abandoned towns in our own real-world too in Nevada and California that are over a 100 years old, from the gold rush. Not much except sand and wind there, and they're still decently...

AFAIK, you can only tip over two brahmins, the one in Megaton and the one in Paradise Falls. Also glitches weirdly in the 360 version, sometimes when they walk back to their original spot, the brahmins will just start floating in mid-air lol. I really wish you could do more with the brahmins...
