    Fallout: New Vegas E3 previews

I don't know, I've always thought of Fallout 2 as a full-priced expansion pack. It's definitely less of a rip-off than a typical Madden "sequel", but they made it in less than 2 years.

    Fallout: New Vegas E3 Trailer

I don't think you should be. If he's going to create anything decent, then he needs to work with stuff that interests him. It's like when a new writer takes over a long-running comic book character. You can't expect him to only work within the constraints of the previous author. Otherwise...

    Fallout: New Vegas E3 Trailer

I think it's inspired by Sawyers interest in ancient history/mythology. He doesn't have a problem shoe-horning his own interests into the Fallout universe, even if they don't really fit. But this is a new game, and he should try to add new things. At least this isn't as bad as half the stuff...

    Fallout: New Vegas Gameplay

The shots I've seen of Rage don't come anywhere close to that model of Marcus. There's no question that New Vegas could look better, but we're a long way from putting a bunch of those models in a sandbox RPG.

Fallout: New Vegas Fan Interview Part 1

It's interesting that they are going with Steam. I wonder if they blame MS for their DLC troubles. Or maybe they are just going with the best royalty deal.

    Fallout: New Vegas Gameplay

To be fair, no platform could handle an open-world game with that sort of character model. Not even close.

    Fallout: New Vegas Gameplay

Unfortunately, it's not a good video for IGN readers. The best way to sell NV is to show that it's got new content. The NV wasteland isn't that much different from the capital wasteland. They shouldn't have let IGN release this footage. This is a tough (but not impossible) sell. It's like...

    Fallout: New Vegas Gameplay

I would assume so. This is probably footage from the first demo. Anyway, it looks fine, but it's hard to get much attention with a product that looks so similar to the original. Bethesda is usually pretty slick, but they shouldn't have let IGN handle this.

Fireside Chat: Alpha Protocol reception and New Vegas

But is it any worse than Bloodlines or FO3?

Fireside Chat: Alpha Protocol reception and New Vegas

I don't think there's anything to worry about. I doubt it will be much more buggy than FO3, and that was fine for me. I'll probably wait for the rapidly-approaching price drop before I pick up AP, though.

JE Sawyer on guns & gender

It would be a sort of balance if small arms didn't scale up as well as they did. The sniper rifle was pretty badass in the hands of a skilled character. I always thought of big guns as a luxury reserved for combat-oriented characters. It wasn't well balanced, but it was good for RPing. But I...

    New Fallout: New Vegas screenshots

Judging from Sawyer's comment, there are also tech constraints. They had to mirror the body to get the more detailed head. And the body actually looks worse to me compared to Bethesda's SMs, so it might be degraded in other ways.

I don't know. It looks the same, except it's sporting a lip strap. It doesn't do anything to capture the cancerous/deformed look that the old SM's had. I like the goggles, though.

Fallout one of the best game franchise revivals

Ninja Gaiden is easily the best franchise revival on that list. The newer games are much better than the old games.

Game Informer Fallout: New Vegas preview scans

We knew that from the first round of previews. And Caesar's Legion does look pretty silly. I'm a little surprised that Sawyer decided to go all the way with them.

Even more Fallout: New Vegas previews

That wouldn't happen to Civ because it's too popular as is. I hope there are more than two big factions in the main plot. I don't mind having a bad-guy faction, like Caesar's Legion, but in that case I would want at least two good-guy factions. Maybe you'll be able to play the BoS against NCR.

Chris Taylor comments on FOOL screenshots

I hate it when people talk about the uncanny valley in the context of videogames, especially when talking about fictitious creatures. And no, Bethesda's models aren't in the uncanney valley. They just aren't good compared to other technically-advanced videogames. They are going for a...

    Fallout: New Vegas screenshots

Well, FO3 did look better than 2006's Oblivion. Obsidian might get dinged by the critics for making no improvements on the visuals of FO3, but I don't think people will care too much. I can't think of any multiplatform games with exciting graphics that are coming out in the near future.

    Fallout: New Vegas screenshots

No, graphics aren't that big of a deal. None of the 2010 console games will look much better than the 2008 console games, and the most popular console of this generation is noticeably underpowered. This game has a decent existing fanbase and plenty of advertising power. It will do fine as long...

A major worry that I have about New Vegas

I don't think FO3 fans like it because it has a bad story. They won't be put off by better writing. I'd say that you are pretty far off base.
