Wasteland 2 Update: Attributes and Skills Breakdown

I'm too lazy to look for my password, register and vote but Classic is really good. Awareness is better than perception in a role-play perspective and Coordination way better than expertise. The acronym is quite nice too even if i like better Ass Clip ;)

Wasteland 2 Update: Attributes and Skills Breakdown

It's quite hard to guess the meaning of some skills : - Toaster repair : general repair skill ? - Examine ? - Brute Force : i would have say it was intimidate but like you already have this skill it's maybe one more combat skill then ? - Cyborg Tech is the only "science" skill ? -...

Toxic Caves fanmade Fallout 2 tribute

Yep, fantastic job. Maybe the most impressive thing is that perfectly suits the mood of fallout 2. Would be great if added to Killap Restoration patch as a cutscene (but stop it around 30/40seconds). I not for wasting money in cutscenes for Wasteland 2 but i would not complain if this guy...

Science consultancy firm Thwacke working on Wasteland 2

From what i have seen from the wasteland replay, the game is wacky as hell and full of crazy stuff. Hiring a science consultancy firm to work in this kind of setting is a bit weird

    Shaker: Old School RPG Kickstarter

I'm a huge Wizardry 8 fan and i would have pledge a lot for a Wizardry "spiritual" sequel. So i'm very sad to say that this kickstarter sounds horrible to me. Tom Hall has almost nothing to do with cRPG (a minor involvement on anachronox) and untill very recently we havn't a single idea of...

    Obsidian's Project Eternity

After a good start/good first video they screw up with the stretch goals. This is not that there are so bad but worded in a way that leave a bad taste IMO. "What I have discovered is that there are some four-letter words with extra letters like player's house which get very emotional...

Tim Cain on Fallout 3/New Vegas, Troika and more

Like Tagaziel i find fallout 2 locations very coherent and well integrated. Gecko/NCR problem. NCR/Vault City/New Reno over-arching plot with Redding in the middle. San Francisco was the only bad location. And only 2 quests were awfull : the talking plant/scorpion quest in Broken hills and...

Wasteland 2 - First Mark Morgan music sample

First impresion : good but maybe a bit too much like fallout. But after listening it +- ten times it really grows on me, i can perfectly imagine a desolate/mysterious/dangerous L.A. Would have been a perfect music to the sleeper base in W1 too. Another excellent piece from Mark Morgan, he...

    GamesIndustry Brian Fargo Interview

I'm not too worried about the 900 pages things. I think it's just a number to show the game will be heavy in dialogue/C&C and to "show progress". I'm much more skeptical about the Sim City/GTA reference. Those 2 games have almost nothing to do with old school cRPG. I just hope (like other...

    GamesIndustry Brian Fargo Interview

I hope that W2 will not be a collection of hundred of small quests. Even in FNV where it was well made it quickly become tiresome and kill the "mystery" and exploration part IMO. I'm more for complex quests with a lot of interactivity between the different locations and that everything reveal...

    Wasteland 2 tidbits

Many reputations and financial assets at stake, not only for Fargo but for Obsidian (if one day they want to launch a kickstarter old school cRPG) and other "celebrities" involved too. And will the market respond positively ? A failure could mean the end old school TB cRPG, except really low...

Colin McComb joins Wasteland 2's team

Redding was very good overall IMO. Same thing with Broken Hills except for the talking plants/scientist/scorpion part which was awfull (especiallly in the fallout universe). Francisco was rather terrible too except for the tanker location that i liked.

Colin McComb joins Wasteland 2's team

If the gameplay department is only half as good as the writting department W2 is going to be truly great. I hope the writting will not be always too serious though. In the end the weird (without being childish, just really weird) stuff in Wasteland adds a lot to the game IMO. I guess i'm...

    Wasteland 2 screenshot and tidbits

I don't especially like the screenshot. I just don't find it ugly. Like a lot of us i would rather like a more "realistic" graphic style. But seriously i don't give a fuck about a Unity store graphic game if the gameplay/stories/dialogues and other RPG parts are good. And i expect W2 to be...

    Wasteland 2 screenshot and tidbits

:D No time to waste on improving the graphics when so much must be made about the gameplay IMHO.
