    Shadowrun returns (on kickstarter)

The shadowrun setting is simply awesome, my favorite one. Now let's hope the gameplay will be ok.

    Shadowrun returns (on kickstarter)

The same thing a bit improved in isometric view with the shadowrun SNES style and i will be happy. It reminds me MCA is not a so good writer too, remember the morgue into for shadowrun SNES ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5mg5EFK00k And Mark Morgan is not the only one to know how to...

    Shadowrun returns (on kickstarter)

I was looking for this thread, not sure to find it. Damn i like even more shadowrun (the P&P RPG ans SNES games) than Fallout. And a 2050 reboot even better. A bit sad about this though : According to the Mayan Calendar (and lots of tabloids), the world will end on December 12, 2012. It’s...

    Matt Chat 142: Wasteland

Matt Chat has the best interviews about the video industry actors. He knows how to put at ease people and make them talk. Its videogame retospective are quite average though IMHO. But his interview with B.F/Jay Barnson/Chris Taylor/Jon Hare/Rebecca Heineman are amazing.

    Wasteland 2 Kickstarter Update #7

I just come to think that while MCA has great writing skill, the way Wasteland manage the "adventure" was much more by exploring the world, not a ton of dialogues and even less "side quest given by NPC system". I know it was a result of the limitation of the time but the "structure" of the game...

(Don't) Give me that old time RPG combat

I am the only one not to understand anything about this article ? He says he wants a wizardry 8 combat system, but W8 is 100% menu driven, it's amost exactly the same as in Wasteland. I really don't understand. OoPs forgot W8 have kind of "RT option" but it was a bit like in Fallout tactics...

Obsidian to Co-Develop Wasteland 2 if $2.1M is hit

I don't see how it can't be a bad thing even if you don't like Obsidian games. Obsidian has good technological tools i guess and Chris Avellone is a talented designer/writer who has worked on fallout and Planescape .He could add his personal touch but i don't expect him to have a major active...

    Ripten Wasteland 2 Interview

A nice interview which bring back the good vibe. He obviously have his idea of how to manage fan feedback, restricting it to the vision document. A good thing for all those so easily panicked about a possible “design by committee” situation. As far as i'm concerned i already know all the...

    Brian Fargo on "social" features

"I put out $1000 for this game and now you are ruining it and I want my money back" kind of threat is quite unecessary/disgracefull and should be avoided. If something is really a deal breaker it will quickly become obvious. On the other hand it's a good thing backers can voice the kind of...

    Brian Fargo on "social" features

It's obvious that Brian Fargo will not drop his social idea and i was not expecting it. He just doesn't share the same vison of what it seems to be the majority. So let's hope that he doesn't focus too much money/time on this thing at the expense of the rest like he ensures us. I doubt we...

    Wasteland Update #6, $1.5M passed

Almost nobody threat to withdraw their pledge and even less do it. People rumble quite a lot but are aware that the oportunity of playing a top-down (iso) cRPG doesn't happen everyday  SumsoloS, notes and items idea are exemples given by B.F. I dislike this idea but i suggest those...

    Wasteland Update #6, $1.5M passed

I have read the enire update a least 3 times. You may like it, got no problem with that but i really don't. At least don't insult people understanding of what it is about. It's a minimum. Got 0 problem with a feature which give the possiblity to send a power armor to a friend, or a message...

    Wasteland Update #6, $1.5M passed

Yeah, the DLC reward thing, or whatever we call it, was a bad idea, at least how it was firstly introduced without special warning like what it was purely anecdotical. Now social thing, if he really wanted it he could have introduced the idea slowly or be more explicit right from the start...

    Wasteland Update #6, $1.5M passed

Makagulfazael it's not a just a a simple-to-implement item/note exchange system : At 2 million we will increase the staff to make the game more social so that it can become a more shared experience. We like the concepts of dropping notes into the world for your friends who are playing the...

    Wasteland Update #6, $1.5M passed

I can't say i like that update at all. A mod kit is not top priority for me but i recognize its utility. This social thing on the other hand i don't know where it comes from. I guess nowadays even an "old school" SP game must have a social aspect, must it be MP or online

    Wasteland Kickstarter Update #5

Kickstarter site and Kicking it forward are fantastic for projects too big for being indie but too small/speciliased to appeal the mass market. Thinking about it, it's quite strange there are not small/medium size publishers for such kind of games like you have for indie music. I guess it's...

Liz Danforth on Wasteland & WL2, and more tidbits

Nice. And it demonstrates brilliantly why always having multiple solutions can be boring/illogical

Brian Fargo on multiplayer, DLC and quest compasses

By revealing more info about the game it is inevitable that B.F will make unhappy people like God is Dog backward. But it's a courageous stand. As long as nothing is shown/said everybody can imagine his own perfect version of W2. And even if 9/10 of what B.F says is going "our" way we...

The Age of Decadence public beta released

Great, i'm very curious about this one, it's a very innovative project.

    Wasteland Kickstarter Update #4

I'm not worried at all about B.F spreading too thin. But the guy sure does a lot and doesn't hesitate to antcipate. I liked better the "low profile" of Tim Shafer even if some people found he did not update much. On the other hand he, as Ausir suggest, maybe wants more publicity with the...
