When your looking at sketchy websites goto Internet Options, Security and set it on High. Then customize it to enable prompting for downloads and enable downloads. This easily prevents any problem you could think of. Unless the user was dumb enough to download and install the Trojan.

It doesn't add up, someone is pulling a prank or there is just an error. Bethesda already said they'd be using the same engine as oblivion. Even at its worst, the dev pictures from the oblivion engine won't look like that.
