DaC article: Mismatch Corner of Angst

Yeah, King of Creation, a bit angsty as has been said, but it's OK.

    Duke Nukem Forever

Then I don't like the look, at all. I'm going to have to see another "screenshot" that isn't thumbnail size to be totally convinced though.

    Duke Nukem Forever

If that really is legit they've taken the term plastic characters to a whole new level. It looks like a frickin Action figure. EDIT: Upon further investigation I've come to the conclusion that this is indeed an Duke Nukem action figure.

    Bethesda producer on Fallout

Bethesda is developing a game for a fan-base that probably hadn't even heard of Fallout before they picked up the license. Yet they still chose to purchase the license probably knowing there'd be a strong negative reaction from some quarters. Their intention was always going to be to fuck around...

    Bioshock community Q&A site opened

What!? Never!? I don't believe it! A PR guy talking out of his ass? I never thought I'd see the day. ..... Maybe someday, in the distant future, these guys will actually check their facts before they spout drivel. We can live and hope.

Bioshock to be released June 7th

Well, with Christmas just passed I think "Flogging a Dead Donkey" is more festive, with the nativity and all.

Why isn't Obsidian developing this game?

As it happens Bethesda developing F3 is a kick in the balls for Fallout fans, if Obsidian had been developing it it would have been a poke in the eye, so take your pick.

RPGCodex labels year an abismal failure and predicts doom

If Bethesda has their way you'll definitely get peasant Jet Junkies with Hardened Power Armor.

The Rise and Fall of Troika on the Escapist

Good read. Troika had 11 credited programmers working on Bloodlines at one time or an other so there are really no excuses for the bugs. You could forgive them if Bloodlines was their first project and they were perhaps caught unawares by Activisions turn of face reguarding getting it out of...

    Desert Diner: post-apocalyptic fps

The world is in need of some good designers with fresh ideas.

    Bioshock site launched

I like what they're doing so-far, and if it's anything like System Shock 2 I'll probably enjoy it.

Obviously made to cash in on Dawn of the Dead's success...where do I find this movie!?

Dual Core CPUs without proper hardware implementations

Without multiple cores the benefits of multithreading in a video game is limited since it has to be fudged through time slicing. The attitude was "what's the point?" since video games rarely have background processes running within them (except for things like sound), unlike Operating Systems...

    FO3 in our lifetime??

I'm sure we'll see something the carries the name Fallout 3 in the next couple of years. Whether it's a true successor to Fallout or just another FINO (Fallout in name only, as with Tactics and FO:POS) remains to be seen.

Dual Core CPUs without proper hardware implementations

OK, here's the deal, programs have to be developed to take advantage of multi-thrading because if they didn't and the OS attempted to multi-thread your application automatically you'd run into some serious damn problems, including two threads running the same piece of code at the same time...
