There's variety and then there's caring what skin your character goes about in killing things. Variety to me would mean more gameplay variety, not characters. In fact, the greatest variety to me would me a shit ton of radio stations and adverts. The best part of GTA is listening to the adverts.

If I have already bought both Fallout 1 and 2 on steam, do you think I should buy them again? Are the versions different? If I remember there are a couple different versions that come down to censorship so if anyone thinks it'd be worth it...

Well, things like energy cells definitely existed. Perhaps they just weren't as popular in other countries. I don't know the extent that RobCo and the like stretched beyond the USA borders.
