Yeah, don't fret about HL2, I also played just the beginning of it and left it. Not saying it's a bad game, I simply wasn't in the mood at the time. Maybe I will try again once I get a Steam version of it.

RTwP, i.e., Real Time with Pause. I would say it is a separate genre from RTS, since being able to pause game makes a rather huge difference. I've over 4,2k hours in CK2 and I do abuse pausing A LOT, so for me it plays almost like a TBS, for example I have game options set so the game autopauses...

Quite the contrary, nowadays TBS are clearly winning over RTS, just look in Steam or elsewhere.
