That is basically the reason why I bought Fallout 4; for the Fallout 1 TC and the Fallout New Vegas TC, if they ever get finished. I don't want to touch the vanilla game as it is just so damn average.

I think @R.Graves that this is how game studios have sold the genre to newcomers. Blame also lies with game publishers and game journalists.

Under that definition the term RPG would have absolutely no meaning.

The term RPG has been rather abused and become blurred over the years. I would probably classify Front Mission 3 as JSRPG though I don't know if the player gets to decide how characters improve their skills and specializations next to customizing the Wanzers. Fallout 4 barely qualifies as a RPG...

I rather dislike how Vault Boy has become an mascot of everything within the Fallout setting when he was just suppose to be Vault Tec's mascot. Bethesda did not begin with it though, some of the concept art of FOBOS already showed that the designers wanted to overuse the character.
