Things you *aren't* pleased to see

I can't wait for a mod manager so I can install the "killable children" mod, just so I can snuff that little shit who does nothing but prattle on about Mick and Ralph's. It's so annoying to see him shrug off a hollow-point 45/70 government round to the head. That's one of the things carried...

Things you *aren't* pleased to see

Meh. You don't have to piss either (although with all the toilets around it wouldn't be too hard to impliment) -given how the water bottles weigh a pound each, realistic water consumption rates would be a fun-killer, just like in almost every other game that isn't strictly a surival sim. I...

So, uh, did anyone like it?

I played Fallout 3... I played Fallout 3. And I found a few things. If you expect absolute rubbish, it's hard to be disappointed. Fallout FPS is exactly like I expected it. It's not as bad as BoS. What did I think, you ask? The game was fun. But it wasn't Fallout. It was set in the...

    Dungeon crawler

Quite true. Just about everywhere in Half-Life was well-lit. I find the hybrid system quite odd; being an FPS veteran in the extreme I'm a bit taken aback when a carefully aimed headshot goes wide for the fifth time. Weapons break down too fast and while my skill in-game is holding me back...

Regarding the Highwayman and its real-life counterpart.

We've had this out before. The Highwayman is a 1959 Imperial -a Chrysler product -hence "Chysalis". The thread is here: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11847 The Imperials are not that well known a car but they were top of the line.

    most used weapon

I used the flamers a lot in both games. The limited range actually makes them a lot more controlled than most big guns, and they're pretty easy to find and keep fed. That said they're just not versatile enough to be my -or I suspect anyone's- "Most used" gun.

When does Power Armor become available to buy in San Fran?

Buster in the NCR has 3 stocks. This threw me for a while my first few playthroughs too... I was sorts like "WTF, why does this guy have an inventory of sticks and rocks!"

    most used weapon

In Fallout I used the Alien Blaster because I found it very early my last time through... good weapon! Otherwise I would get myself the .223 pistol ASAP. I usually carried a minigun or a rocket launcher but that was for busting up big threats -the pistol was definitely my workhorse. In...

SPECIAL System and How to make it better

Well you can't say that armor just keeps getting better without anything to balance it, but the fact that metal armor gives much lower AC than leather doesn't really matter when you consider how much higher its resistances are. One thing that I think doesn't come through clearly in a lot of...

SPECIAL System and How to make it better

SPECIAL itself is very good, my only complaint being that the system of 1-10 allows for very little variety. With no way to go over 10 and with stat points being so very valuable, except in a few cases (such as odd points of AG giving you just a couple skill points but even ones giving you...

A New "I Am Legend" Movie

So I just saw it tonight with the ladyfriend... All I can say is "Meh". I just didn't get into it, for some reason. Didn't do it for me, and I liked The Omega Man, and the book. I mean, it was well made and all, but for whatever reason I found little to like.

    Pointless RP Exercises

Well, the basic shit; ate food, drank nuka-cola and liquor (and avoided the weird glowy shit from Gecko!), and taken off my armor before sleeping with people (especially M(r)s. Bishop).

Have You Seen These Bugs II

Re: the concept of prone vs. standing for to-hit modifiers... I believe the bonus is a holdover from the concept of melee combat in RPGs as the primary mode of combat. It's much easier to go to town on somebody on the ground with a melee weapon than when they are standing up. It's much harder...

Have You Seen These Bugs II

I have definitely had the slaves mess up the game when the car is on the east Den map. This happened only once, though, and after that I stopped taking the car there. The game crashed; I don't recall consequences beyond this but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

    TV license

Public broadcasting is a joke. I did some volunteering with what we have here called an "Access Cable Channel"; a channel set up so that people can make and air their own programming. It is supposed to be educational, etc. It is useless. The programming is utter shite and the people couldn't...

    Cars and bikes...

I have an old Buick LeSabre and an older Corvette (1984). The Buick serves its purpose and the Corvette is a fun toy. It's good to have a backup car because yours WILL break sooner or later. I've also got a Toyota MR2 but that's off the road right now, I just don't have the cash to keep 'em...

What kind of weapons do you want to see in F3?

I'd agree that dual weilding should NOT be easy. It is possible to effectively utilize two weapons and there are situations where you'd want to (situations where volume of firepower outweighs the need for accuracy, or where ammunition on demand is needed -witness how dual-weilding was the order...

    Stupid fallout experiences...

First time through I searched a bunch of "Stuffs" and realized they were empty, so I got it in my head that "Stuffs" among other items (tool benches, peg boards, and a few others) NEVER had objects in them. Missed plenty of stuff that way and a lot of shop inventory.

    Time for a NEW TV

The thing to beware of with LCD projectors is the absolutely insane cost of bulbs -like %40 or more of the unit cost. They last very few hours. The companies could give the projectors away if they could make you buy a frikkin' light bulb for USD400 each time.
