I bought FNV on GOG yesterday, wanted to paly it today. Upon making a fresh install, runtime error R6030 appears even before applying any mods. I tried removing and installing clean VC++ redist, updating GPU drivers, running it in Admin mode, putting d3dx9.dll and dummy d3dx9.txt into my game...

It struck me just recently when I attempted to play Arcanum (yet again), that I will probably never be able to dive deeply into it. I'm in the second location of the game now and already know that I will probably drop it soon. Mind you, I rarely get captivated enough to finish a game these days...

Diablo 1 OST is great, especially Tristram: Glad the HoMM3 and Starcraft got mentioned as well, from the latter a lot are good, my favorite probably being: Somehow it fits so well in the background, the sequel just couldn't replicate it for me.

First cRPG would be Fallout 2, didn't have my own PC at the time, played it at a friends house (powerful Pentium MMX 133 MHz machine :D). PnP would be Warhammer RPG.

Another thing worth mentioning is that they rolled out 1.3 W3 patch together with GoTY edition, it fixes quite a lot of stuff actually.

I strongly recommend playing BG series with this http://www.shsforums.net/files/file/54-baldurs-gate-trilogy-weidu/ , It makes it much more pleasing and consistent experience and fixes some bugs too.

It all boils down to the budget really. SSD are great, I have them in all my systems. Plextor, Intel and Samsung are all good and blazing fast. When running 1 GPU setup any decent 600W (at most) PSU will do. Aim for Haswell i3/i5 depending on the budget, the GPU is the biggest difference anyway now.

Probably Diablo II for me with hundreds over hundreds of runs, Diablo III is not as addicting for me, maybe RoS will change it. Also HOMM III, maybe not addicting in the sense of playing it non-stop for days, but I can always come back to this game and enjoy it, anytime.

Well, I went from 13'' laptop to 24'' LCD so it's similar scale ;)

Pulled the trigger on the trio, just waiting for new GPU and will start exploring the Zone ;)
