Are we better prepared for the future (wasteland) ?

Think of this, why would the nuking world allow a country to escape unscated and become the new post-war's most powerfull country? All the reasons you mentioned are EXACTY the reasons why you will be nuked to shit. Not the US perhaps, but China or Russia will. I live in a...

Nuclear WAR - like... right now?

Funny, today I read in a newspaper that the Global Seed Fault in Svalbard (Spitsbergen) is completed and is taking in the 4,5 million seed-samples, containing 500 seeds per sample. Interesting that this facility is build with the afterthought of war or disastrous climate change, but what will...

Nuclear WAR - like... right now?

You can very well keep it out of your house, but what about crops or any other food source that people need? Sure, greenhouses would keep the dust out, but that is going to be a little difficult when a few million people have the same idea.. The fallout may wash away to sea, but then the marine...

Nuclear WAR - like... right now?

Now lets see here: I will probably survive the first missile strikes on my country since I am far away from Amsterdamn or The Hague. The city I live in is really not worth bombing, or someone at the 'red button' is being a prick. However, now I think of it, my country sits right...

Nuclear paranoia non-existent in Fallout's world?

Well, I can imagine that the Enclave would gladly have a few dozen nuclear 'bunker busters' to elliminate the Brotherhood of Steel bases. And how the BOS slipping an nuclear warhead onto the ship that takes it to the Enclave base?

I Am in A Parallel Universe or EA admits Buyouts Are Bad

Agreed, I fail to see how the gaming industry will revert back to quality instead of quick sales. Creative games just do not sell to the big public when the general purpose of the games has also shifted towards quick satisfaction. (And by God, I HATE consoles, they are just as responsible for...

Most Creatively Evil thing done in Fallout

I have an even better idea, get Myron and put him in a room with a drugged Lynette. The resulting offspring would be so horrendous that the Master looks like a supermodel in comparisson.

Cormac Mccarthy's - The Road //-BIG SPOILER WARNING, read the book first-// I have just finished reading Cormac Mccarthy's - The Road, and what a fantastic book it was. The only setback was the rather quick ending, but hey there had to be at least óne glimmer of light at the end of the gray...

    Life After People

Well, according to a CNN poll, 50 million Americans believe the world will end in the next few generations.. So the reason for all this attention for apocalyptic endings is not that weird. The standard response from religious folks when times are bad. They always fail to see the big picture...

    Scariest game

Ah I remember that ancient game to. Indeed the drowning part was nasty and I made many trips back and forth before I'd collected the nerve to enter a long tunnel... And those goddamn octopuss-kinda-spider things which would lash suddenly out at you when swimming to close. Some level bosses where...

    Life After People

Interesting. However it looks like they made it to much of an CGI showcase without much science into it. However, this kind of docu's have my interest so I will definitely see it. I Wonder though if this documentary had been based upon Weisman's book: 'The World Without us''...

    Post-apocalyptic location photography

True, that bothered me a bit to. A bit more puzzling and hacking to get into the complex would be more fun. As you said, those facilities where designed to keep people out who use brute force to gain entrance.

    Post-apocalyptic location photography

Funny you mention that, I had exactly the same 'childhood-explore-mode' feeling when finding the West Tek Research Facility (the Glow) in Fallout 1. Man, I wish there where more places like that in F1 and F2.

Which of F2 NPCs I`ve to kill for feeling myself happy ? =))

Hhm hard to remember... I do know that it was a very bad day for the Fallout world when I gave my 3 team-members power-armor, miniguns and flamethrowers.. Shocking Atrocities after that include: - The total ethic cleansing of New Reno because of that fucker Myron. I mercilessly killed...

    Post-Apocalyptic books

Guys, stop what you are doing right now and read this book: The awesome cover with relief and shiny bloodstains alone is enough to buy this book. It is about The undead, The living dead, 'Zack', Ghouls, aka: Zombies. Just like Max Brooks' former book; 'The Zombie survival...
