    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #84

The game guru review is fun to read: This sucks, that sucks, this is horrible, game really needs this and that... 10/10!

[IDEA] The Stupid Project - ugg?

That sounds like a good idea, although with different people writing dialogue it could seem mismatched. Ugg-talk pretty much sounds the same no matter who writes it. That of course requires people writing it, and haven't really seen any volunteers. Instead, I think I'll be focusing on a...

[IDEA] The Stupid Project - ugg?

That's exactly the type of thing I mean. We just need people to volunteer to Stupidify these things :P.

[IDEA] The Stupid Project - ugg?

I know many of us played the original games, and found the dialogue available when playing a stupid character (INT <= 4) entertaining, and found the situation in Fallout 3 rather lacking. However, adding Stupid dialogue to all of Fallout 3 is a mammoth project, that one person can't reasonably...

[I R SMART] dialogue skill checks unretardified

For dialogue that has [Dumb stuff] in it, this is controlled by the AV/Perk drop down box in the middle of the dialogue screen (it's under 'Prompt' and above the 'Respose Text' list). Just set this to none and the [garbage] will go away. It doesn't actually control the check made for the...

    Fallout 3 reviews round-up #74

Joe Hart killed me with that 'oblivion's leveling was perfect' line. Jesus. Doesn't matter what else he said, can't take that seriously.

    Fallout 3 Compendium - Release 12 - Beta v0.6.0.2

Erm, didn't the originals just give +X to STR? Anyway, if you want to do it like that you don't need scripts, just set up some CTDAs so its like: EFID IncStr EFIT mag 2 CTDA getav STR = 8 and so on, which would make it just give you 10 str. Just tweak the numbers to make it set str...

    Planet Fallout interviews Wes Johnson

They really did nail the protectron voices though. I think I laughed more at those bots than anything else in the game (isn't saying much, but they were still pretty funny).

A request for a mod: Binoculars

Already being worked on by someone from the official forums, so keep an eye on F3Nexus for when it's ready (or those forums).

Join the F3C team; read the official design plans

Just thought I'd pop in and explain an easy way to do strength requirements (although it will require FOSE to tell what weapon the player has equipped). Basically you set up a quest script to run about 1-2 times per second. You'll also need to compile lists of what weapons require what STR...

    Fallout 3 Compendium - Release 12 - Beta v0.6.0.2

This is completely untrue. Making it modular via multiple .esp's and not having 'conflicts' is very simple when you understand how 'conflicts' are caused. Technically, 'conflicts' can really only happen when using mods by different authors. If one authors own mod has problems with another mod...

    Fallout 3 Compendium - Release 12 - Beta v0.6.0.2

I'm not interested in any 'fame' or whatnot. Like I said, I think you're doing something good with this, you just need to ask people's permission before you go including their work in something they didn't agree to be part of.

It can't be a cooperative effort by people who haven't consented to cooperate. My position is the same, I do not want my mod part of someone else's compiliation, especially after it was included without my knowledge or permission.

    Fallout 3 Compendium - Release 12 - Beta v0.6.0.2

Okay, I have an issue. I support what you (Dubby) are trying to do with this mod, but it seems you have included my Traits mod into your .esp without asking my permission, or even notifying me in any way. Please remove any parts of the Traits mod from your .esp and the included data files...

    fixing perks

I've added one along a similar idea to my mod (which isn't out yet). It gives you increased DR while moving, so you don't get torn up as much on the run up to the enemy.

    Fallout 3 Compendium - Release 12 - Beta v0.6.0.2

You can make VATS accuracy dependent on weapon skill -- you just use a perk to do it. Make a perk that affects VATS accuracy (copy sniper for example, and remove the existing CTDAs). You then add your own CTDAs, one which checks if the weapon type is energy weapons, then another 2 which check...

    fixing perks

Gah, you stole my firewalker perk. Of course, mine is a tiny bit different. Headhunter seems way weak for a level 22 perk. And I'd suggest moving silent running up to level 6 where it belongs.

There's six companions -- 2 are good, 2 are neutral, 2 are evil. Something for everyone. Karma is a good system -- it's just that Bethesda screwed it up.

    More team members

The followers that stay with you are controlled differently than tagalong NPCs for quests... it's all done with dialogue conditions. I've succeeded in making follower max based on charisma, right now I'm adding in dialogue for my Magnetic Personality perk, which gives +1 followers and lets...
