    Shadowrun returns (on kickstarter)

Here's a video of some guy that talks too much playing 30 minutes of the alpha: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KgojXNLtc08 Of note (as far as I've watched it): An incorrect Bladerunner reference

    Any games like Fallout?

Soulburner: I haven't played Baldur's Gate very far, but when you are first starting out you really need to use ranged weapons. For some reason, I think slings were better (ammo availability?). You pretty much survive the early game of baldur's gate by having one character attacking with a...

    Paula Deen

I would say more positive than Israel given who their neighbors are. Also, I would say the "victim complex" is noticeably less vocal (or recognized?) when it comes to WASPy types. Now the media buzz is increasingly focusing on homosexual (duh) and transgender issues. God forbid you read...

Just Wondering.... (Relates to Jagged Alliance 2)

Have you read the design doc for Planescape? The game was literally pitched as having loads of babes, "kewl" spells that turn enemies inside out, and generally mocking how boring old PnP type RPGs were. That said, I can't say I disagree with the rest of your post.

    Planescape: Torment

Are any of you playing BG multi? I've been scanning Tunngle for BG2 MP games and no one ever talks in those chats.

More Gears of War than Call of Duty, I think.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Well, I do really enjoy the way the NPCs are written, but I've always hated Bioware's tendency to overwrite dialogue for the player. I almost always want to either say less or say different than the options presented to me, whereas there's a handful of games that present dialogue options that...

    Deus Ex

As hard of a time as I have making this argument (because I'm a big MGS fan mainly), I really don't feel like cheating is fun. I prefer to trade safety for situational awareness instead of having the omniscient god camera hovering over my back so I can't get hurt. It's probably a big reason...

    Deus Ex

On realistic, the regen aug really couldn't handle the chance that you would get shot in the head (fairly likely if you're going rambo-style). Sticky cover is fine (I guess), but why the third person switch? With the exception of the dialogue sequences, Deus Ex didn't try to remind you that...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Going between Bad Company 2 and Baldur's Gate 2. BG2, while quite fun, gets me all wet thinking about what it could have been like with real dialogue and C&C.

    Deus Ex

It's starting to feel like we're getting the FO3 treatment. Regenerative health Sticky Third Person cover system Atrocious hand-holdy highlighting PC will be a port (although the consensus at the official forums is that the company doing the port is as good of a choice as they could have...

Muammar Gaddafi and Battlefield 3 gameplay.

They're adding prone in. Also, reading this thread reminds me of how horrible the BF2 server browser was. Worse even, trying to get into the same game with friends. I'm cautiously optimistic.

    Deus Ex Human Revolution

A bunch of press people apparently got to play through the first couple of missions in the game today (or, rather, were allowed to post reviews of their play experience today). The main thing I've been seeing the most of the game journalists is that the game is difficult on Normal (the lowest...

Fallout: New Vegas & Fallout 3 DLC Concept Art

Sorry for the late addition, I saw the Wes Burt pics in the album but couldn't find the discussion thread for awhile. I love the "6 degrees of separation" going on with Wes Burt working on a Fallout project.

    New Vegas Worries

I'll admit that I scanned the page before I replied, and the discussion (mainly our lycanthropy-afflicted friend's response) gave me the impression that the post was taken quite seriously.

Cant wait for Fallout Las Vegas

1000 times better. I wonder if I could bother you to rehash the basic idea behind whatever that discussion was about? I'm pretty sure the only Obsidian game I ever played was KOTOR2, and once I got one of my playthroughs past the first level (the nav computer was bugged a lot of times, not...

    Planescape & Windows 7

I'm only about 2 hours into Planescape, but I'd say the quality of the experience makes the $30 pricetag worth it, considering what you'll find at any given B&M store for $50-60.
