I agree, there's really no noticeable damage difference between the LAER and Elijah's Advanced LAER, they both destroy anything you point it at, might as well go with the one that lasts longer.

Bring a LOT of weapon repair kits if you can get your hands on them. Look up where to find the LAER or Elijah's Advanced LAER, it destroys everything but breaks excessively fast, hence the repair kits.
