I just threw in some NHL game that someone left at my house years ago and it worked fine.... This cancels out a disk/xbox. I know! What do you think?

Before I start this, I'll just say that I'm not a huge gamer. I play the odd RPG when I find one I like, but I'm not too into it. Saying that, I finally bought an Xbox last January, and in March Fallout 3 and Skyrim began to freeze whenever I opened a saved game or started a new one. After weeks...
