I've been playing this series since Dynasty Warriors 3 came out ages ago... And that was in my primary school.

Now Dynasty Warriors 8 came out and... Still same?

Like I don't know what the developers are thinking, but why is it that this series is just so same to each other? Like Megaman series has different bosses, new systems, and some changes every game, but this series has like same characters every game (new modeling or changes are the most), with maybe some added as time went, but the gameplay itself is still no different from when I was in primary school lol.

Isn't that insane gameplay exactly what players are looking for?
As for the same characters, it's basically a retelling of a same story, which is (loosely) based on historical events.

I don't really think of another DW (and SW) game as a sequel, more as an update to a previous game.


Anyway, I played Dynasty Warriors 4 quite a lot. I must've invested dozens of hours into that game, mainly playing co-op with my younger sister, back in the day. That was the sole reason to buy the gamepad for my PC, and the only game where I've used it. Good times.
