I haven't played Fallout 1 in a long time, so I thought I'd give it another shot. FIXT seems to incorporate some sensible additions to the game like companion leveling and armor, the ability to push NPCs, cut content restoration, etc. However, I've had some issues with it, especially in fullscreen mode.
1. the framerate tanks at 1920x1080 with x2 scaling enabled. Windowed mode fixes the issue, but I really don't like playing with a giant white bar on top of my screen and my Windows taskbar on the bottom.
2. Am I supposed to start with a friggin' flamer if I tag Big Guns? Maybe I'm just not remembering correctly, but I don't recall being handed this thing straight out of the vault in any of my previous Fallout playthroughs years ago. I assume it's a FIXT addition? I'm using the "standard" install, which incorporates "some" new content.
3. There's some kind of odd screen tearing wherever my cursor is, and it seems to be associated with X2 scaling. It happens when I minimize and then return to my screen.
