I don't know what you really did to your game, as I can sell used (and even still active) Geiger counter normally in RP 2.3.3 with sfall 4.x:



Not sure if other people updated their sfall to 4.x also have the same issue.

so first of all I wanted to say that I've looked absolutely everywhere for a solution to my problem and havent found a single solution that worked, I've never used this forum before so I'm not even sure if this is the right place to ask (If it isn't I wouldnt mind someone redirecting me to the right place) since I'm not even sure if the problem I have is related to RP so anyway here it is. I have a big problem with my sound in Fallout 2 RP, whenever I alt-tab out of my game and come back, or my game suffer a slight stutter well my sound just start to skip around and stutter which makes it absolutely unbearable to listen to. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, changing my installation folder, run the game in windowed, mess around with the sound parameters in the ddraw.ini but nothing worked.

Also small question but is there a way to make the window resizable like in Fallout 1? I didnt seem to find an option while looking around.

EDIT: Oh yeah I forgot to add, a really odd part of the sound bug is that whenever I'm in the pause menu or my map is scrolling around, the sound is fine, it stops stuttering until I return to normal gameplay.

 

I'd guess it's due to some drivers or DirectX issues. You might try using the DirectDraw Compatibility Tool see if it helps.

If you're playing in the windowed mode, you should be able to resize the window when the game is paused, shows the game menu with ESC key, opens inventory/character screen, etc.

thank you for your answer! I tried the DirectDraw Compatibility Tool and even tho I had a hard navigating the website since I don't speak russian I think I did all I needed to do, sadly it didn't seem to fix my problem at all. Also the resizing isnt working in the menus like it did on Fallout 1.

Weird, resizing the window works fine for both Fallout 1 & 2 here. You might try checking f2_res.ini for more settings than running the configurator or in-game setting menu.

I have resolved my sound problem! If any of you have the same problem I fixed it by enabling multicore in ddraw.

 

hello everyone, new here
i was wondering if anyone could help me understand why NPCs (so far i only got sulik) doesn't wear an armor even though i installed R.P 2.3.3 and verified it actually got installed properly as described in the readme file (main menu version shows properly and the rock in the start before entering the temple). couldn't find a reported bug about that issue in my google search so if its a known issue i apologize.

indeed. i am new to the R.P mod but i have played fallout 2 since it came out...
i can see why you would ask that, as i saw new players sometimes don't understand how to get an NPC to actually equip stuff, but that is not the case this time.
unless there are additional steps that needs to be taken besides installing the R.P patch to get the NPC armor mod i really don't understand why that would happen.
hope someone will have a solution, although its not critical to the game play it would still be nice to see marcus in an armor (little newbie humor + i hate marcus cause of the way he responds once u interact with him so i never take him. sulik FTW).

 

ok now i know something must be wrong cause i dont get cassidy's talking head too.
is there anything specific that i needed to install or could pick the option to install for the NPC's armor mod and cassidy new functions to actually work?
i am thinking maybe i missed something, although i followed the readme.txt file instructions and also confirmed it was installed correctly by the signs mentioned in it.

From your description it seems you installed RP using the manual installation package. If yes, it doesn't have NPC armor appearance mod and Cassidy's talking head.

When I enter The Den, the screen goes black. How do I fix this?

 

Paint the screen in red and it will not be black.

 

both traders in san-francisco center have no money respawn for some reason... who know this problem?? it happens after long time playing, can it be that 2254 year coming is the reason?
