[spoiler:7bd0755c18]Definitely isn't needed to eliminate all of the Enclave troops. Dispatch the doctor (Schreber?) and rescue that imprisoned deathclaw.
However, I'm not sure with another prerequisities for "good" V13 deathclaws ending - you also can't revisite V13 before ending the game, I think. And don't take Goris into your party.[/spoiler:7bd0755c18]

[spoiler:7bd0755c18]Why can't you take Goris with you? I don't see how having him leave effects the ending. Killap?[/spoiler:7bd0755c18]

[spoiler:96eeefcadc]After some time in your party, Goris will disjoin and he travel back to the Vault13, due to Enclave attack. This might be one of triggers for the "bad" deathclaw's ending.[/spoiler:96eeefcadc]

[spoiler:d75e8d5518]I have played far enough to get the first Kaga encounter i 2.1.2b. Unlucky for him he did not survive (no exploits or cheats used), and I assume this will be the last I will ever see of him in my current game, and that additional Kaga encounters should be regarded as bugs?[/spoiler:d75e8d5518]

    Can anyone confirm this?

Don't know if this is a bug or something, but:

[spoiler:689b5d45f6]I have solved the Vault village quest. I told the guy in the village that there may be another way, told that to Joe, talked to McLure, talked to brain... However, when I come to the village, eventhough the quest is crossed out, I can't tell Connar that I found something. All I get is the following dialog options:

    Ask some questions
No news, I'll come back later

Now, I optimized the powerplant, told McLure all about it, he said he won't touch the village, etc... But why can't I tell anything to Connar?[/spoiler:689b5d45f6]

This is a minor question, so I'm posting it here.

Is Miria changing her model according to the armor she is wearing in the newest version? I't didn't work on the last one that I played, not sure if it was a bug or intentional...

Doesn't this smell a bit like chauvinism? It would be nice to have all of them change their's armor and have a face in the future. But from what I remember you haven't written that mods. You only implement them in RP,right?

There is no custom appearance mod for Miria or Davin because it takes a crazy amount of effort to make new animations, and well, those two characters are joke characters. People need to understand that. That's their role in the game and that's what the devs made them to be. Maybe some day custom armor animations will be made for them like with the rest, but I wouldn't count on it.

Hey can anyone tell me as how to get to the lower levels of EPA? The place is completely redone so I got stuck in the maintenance level 2.

Not too many spoilers please. I'd like to play and see what's new in there.

    1. There were custom animations for Miria (and Davin?) (PC-copies) in the early versions of RP. Maybe they weren't perfectly fitting, but they worked and I didn't hear anyone complaining. I liked it.

    2. ESPECIALLY that the whole armor-look thing is optional, and people who don't like spouses in their team simply omit the whole marriage thing, or got them killed right away, thus - it was implemented as an option, that wasn't harming anyone. I - for example - don't really give a sheet if Davin had such anims or not - as a man playing male chars I simply didn't even bother to check that. As to the difference in looks - In case of Miria, using the armor-look thingie can i.e. override her 'no armor look' to this:

...which will make female PC armor animations fitting quite neatly ;]

    3. And please don't call them 'joke characters'. It is how you see it, and I respect that. But I, on the other hand always take Miria onboard (the whole 'being married' thing is just too cool). Sometimes I let her get killed after some time, sometimes I wait until the New Reno and get a divorce, sometimes I keep her to the very end of the game. Sadly, now with custom armors for everyone else, having a squad of 'combat armor types' and one ragged ho loitering behind looks stupider than ever :[

    But . . . that's exactly what they are.

They're dumb, attractive characters that the game treats strictly in a humorous way. If you make the "mistake" of seducing one of them, then the game forces them on you as a companion. However, since they have terrible stats, can't raise levels, and can't even be made to wait, it's obvious that they're meant to be a burden (this is also made clear through the Chosen One's dialogue concerning them).

However, because Maria is described as being a smoking hot babe who falls in love with you, it seems a lot of male Fallout 2 players choose to look past her tongue-in-cheek and burdensome nature and try to treat her like a real companion or wife. This is probably also due to her being the only recruitable female NPC. But wanting something doesn't make it so.

It is true that way back I included the b-team mod. However, this mod gives all animation types to critters and this is not intended. I could only include the animations that Miria and Davin can use, but then they lose their 'unique' (in the sense that they don't look like the player) appearance as soon as they put on armor. These were the two issues with the b-team mod: npcs could use all the weapons the player uses and it looked like an army of chosen ones running around when everyone had the same armor.

As for the rest of your comments, what Dravean said. I do respect your opinions though.

Actually I agree with all of you. Every thing depends how we threat word "restoration".

If we take characters as what devs made them to be yes- you are absolutely right Killap but on the other hand this goes to other characters as well. Marcus is speaking: "I don't wear armor" and as a result he shouldn't wear that epa armor. Mayron,Lenny and Deathclaw are somewhat joke characters made by devs as well(although they are leveling). Mayron was intended to be an arrogant boy who can shoot a bit but don't care much about it-everything is to be famous and respectful for his science skill. Lenny is a very old ghoul who remember's his doctor skill quite much as he still practicing this but shooting is a fade memory and Goris is just another though deathclaw as all the pack and besides he is a scholar not the warrior so actually he should even fight worser then rest of the pack. So Lenny and Mayron shouldn't get that extra levels which I believed ware implemented and Goris shouldn't got that extra critical and piercing attacks.

On the other hand we have people who wants to have a deeper game play then it was intended. They want to have companions wchich will go with them to hell and undependable of their limitations they go above their selfs and get out with "The Chosen One" in one piece. Because of this people we have armor for Marcus, extra abilities for Goris, more levels for other characters and so on. And that's why there is Miria for Real! mod and that's why Tongu and Templayer (sorry for typo if there is one) are trying to make it compatible with RP 2.1.x line and that's why people are writing posts as that one below yours. I believe we(me and others Miria fun's) are seeing not the joke character but a sensitive, very attractive women which felt in love with us. We want to feel responsible for a wife and try to make up the mistake of allowing her to end that evening in that way. And although that mistake we believe in real love which allows her to advance, to go through her limitations allowing her using those pistols/smgs better and better. I quess I overdone a bit but I hope you get my point.

I understand your point of view. Have you understood mine?

I do. And that is why as soon as custom animations are made for Miria and Davin they will become part of the RP. I never said they wouldn't be. However, they will be option installs, just like the Marcus and dog armor, just like the npc armor mod, and just like the other options that add a bit more flavor to the game. While they are appropriate additions to the game, they are not truly restored content and thus must be treated as such.

Obvious 8-) Never argued about that.

About the two problems with using the "female dude" custom anims that you've mentioned...

-All weapons - I could say that Miria is such a poor shooter that I don't really matter, but I won't :P I'll rather write what I thought when Cassidy has drawn a m60 in the middle of the fight for the first time... "W00T?!" ;]

I'm in no way into scripting, but as far as I know, all animations are separate .frm files. No file - no animation. Someone with a bit of aptitude (not a computer liability like me) will have no problems with making a PC-looking Miria without the rifle, flamer, minigun (...), animations. Authors of B-Team could have easily removed the "additional weapon anims" from followers. I rather think they didn't wanted to. :P

-Similar look - yeah, a band of PC Male + (optionally) one PC female wasn't that beautifull, especially that Vic gaining hair and loosing weight with the help of the leather jacket  That was just too much  But let me remind, that even in the original Fallout 2 PC chars and nearly all of the followers WERE exact copies of a number of other NPCs...

Sulik - is identical with any other non-Arroyo tribal/nomad/cannibal/ + to some slaves
Vic - is identical to Jesus Mordino (and one or two more chars I think)
Cassidy - is identical to Metzeger, Male Encounter Slaver, male trapper, Some of the Bishop Guards...)
Marcus - is identical to about 30% of mutants appearing in both first fallouts...
Miria - is identical to homeless female, mom, female junkie, prostitutes, female caravan masters...
as tribals - are identical to the Arroyo tribals
with jumpsuit - are identical to some of the vault dwellers
in leather jacket - are identical to some of the raiders, gangsters, claim jumpers, gang members...
in leather armor - are identical to about 70% of the leather armor types encounered ingame (with exception of the Cassidy identicals)
in metal armor - are identical to all of the Metal armor chars with the exception of a female trapper and black MA guy
in combat armor - are identical to all of the other CA NPCs (there is no other CA animation apart from the PC male and PC female!

As we now remember, 99% of Fallout chars graphics are used in a large (sometimes humongous) number of characters. :P And Miria, who already looks like several other characters CANNOT look like PC female in order to have armor animations...

I know I'm nagging you, killap  And I know, that you're a perfectionist. And I know that glueing together the separete PC anims to make Miria looking armoured is a bit of work. And I will certainly play the new RP again, simply because it's great, and getting better with every release. But please do not make that common mistake to exclude something (even as optional!), just because you think it won't fit that good.

It's me, DrapiChrust, shutting up now. :D
