Great thanks for the fix! I've given up with the BOS exit crash for now. I've reverted back to the save which works from when I first entered the BOS. The other duplicate save must be corrupt. Either way I have done the BOS, got the power armour and operation upgrades and left the base without any crashes!

One minor issue I noted was on level 3 in the bunkers, when unlocking the chests/lockers it says 'error' instead of unable to open etc. Very minor.

As this is my first play through if I stumble across any other bugs ill be sure to keep you informed and list them on the wiki as well. Ok cool sounds good re the credits, you can put me down as 'Mortrock'. Once again, great mod!

OK, so just finished Fallout with FIXT and...no bugs! I didn't pick up any problems with BOS, mariposa, cathedral, etc. All worked fine, tested continuing playing after end and worked fine as well. So no bugs from me from my playthrough except the one I submitted earlier (about missing caravan quest).

Also, just again thank you Sduibek (and all others involved) for FIXT; it is wonderful. Playing through Fallout again now just reminded me of how it is without a shred of doubt one of the best videogames ever made and means so much to me personally (and ofc Fallout 2 as well). Tim Cain is legend. They don't make em like this anymore. I will definitely keep donating to you Sduibek (probably in the next 2 months or so) to show my appreciation for FIXT and your work getting all the mods/enhancements of Fallout to play nice with each other.

I will also play through the game again this year with FIXT and test again for you. This time I will play a very different route than I normally play so I will be able to test different avenues than I did with this playthrough. Will also remain active in this thread (I am working on a FOT mod as well so I do keep up with the Fallout/FOT modding scene) and keep an eye on the evolution of FIXT.

@phillon Awesome, thanks! I'm glad to help people enjoy the game more. Your help (of both kinds :)) is very much appreciated. And I agree, Fallout is a great game. I really want to play Fallout 2 again with the F2RP because I haven't yet.

Unrelated: Hopefully I'll have another small patch public soon, which should fix the other holodisk issues (Blades/Zimmerman) and should help with the BoS crashes, and include the fix for Missing Caravans quest.

Hi Sduibek, I have come across another crash. I think this time its related to my follower. I'm in the Cathedral basement versing the two super mutants and as soon as Ian moves it crashes. Save is below:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/ycphxhk0c7e2qih/Crash Cath.rar

I've tried loading an older save and it seems to keep crashing at the at the start of the super mutants turn to attack.

Damn :( Thanks for the save, I'll see what I can do.

In other news, another patch is "almost done" and should be available "soon". It should fix every single holodisk issue and holodisk crash -- including destroying unneeded holodisks as intended.

Hello, havent followed exactly all updates, i wanted to know if endings had been fixed(Followers of apocalypse and the hub) though i havent found any convincing explanation for the alternate ending of Hub.

@Mike It appears to be crashing due to the super mutant initiating it's attack, but I don't know why yet.
@hokutonoken Followers should be restored in next installer release, not sure about the Hub, as you mentioned. I do plan on restoring it though, I'll just have to think of something that makes sense.

@Mike While I've never seen this personally (even though it's mentioned regularly by some people) I think the crash might actually be from saving during combat. Because even if I remove my custom scripts and custom sound effects, and destroy the existing critters on the map, and remove & destroy all items from player's inventory, it crashes when: ending turn, or force-terminating combat (via script), or removing combat info via savegame editor.

Do you have a savegame before this combat, on either Cathedral or Master's Vault maps? Seems like it's just a save-during-combat glitch from what I can tell. Which doesn't make it any less annoying of course, but I don't know what else I'd try for narrowing down the cause. It's possible there's a corrupt item script or the critter scripts on the map are doing something wacky, but at this point because it's in combat I can't really test it more.

If I were to do videos of Fixt, what do you guys want to see?

Just short ones showing features (a few minutes each, or less), or a Let's Play (10min to 30min each), or something else?

I'd rather have short ones because they go straight to the point.

Hello everyone. I would first off like to thank Sduibek for the great work. Anyhow....I came here to see if there was some update with the whole issue with crashing after giving Cabot the holodisk and trying to enter the BOS. I noticed that other were having this and you were working on it. I also noticed the previous post that you said you haven't figured out whats causing it (or I missed it if you have found the cause). In case you still haven't, I think I have found the issue for you. It's something to do with having multiple followers. Specifically having like Dogmeat, Ian, and Tycho in your party at the same time. I don't think Dogmeat is affecting it because as soon as I removed Ian and Tycho from my party I could get in. Also you couldn't just tell them to part ways either, you actually needed to kill them off. Just telling them to part ways still causes it to crash. I will try to pin it down here in the next 2 or so hours for ya. I'll give you an update on what I find so you at least have some kind of a starting point on where to look.

Hah alright....I've got it pinned down for ya I think Sduibek. It's because of having to many followers. I couldn't tell you if its some wonky engine limitation or not, but I can definitely tell you its because of having more than 1 follower (i.e. Ian + Tycho). Also as I said before you cannot just tell one to part ways once they are in your party, you actually need to kill one of your followers to be able to get into without crashing. So, long story short, if you try joining the brotherhood with more than 1 follower, it's gonna crash. Hope this gives you some general idea of whats going wrong.

After killing off a party member and then reloading a previous save (before killing off either Ian or Tycho) I decided to run back to the BOS to see if the crash happened again while having Ian + Tycho + Dogmeat in my party...and go figure...it didn't. So I guess I've got nothing.

    FALLOUT FIXT v1.0 - FINAL RELEASE [01 April 2014]

This will be the final release of my mod, Fallout Fixt. This journey has been fun, ladies and gents. I will miss working on the project, but there are many reasons that work on it must end:

    1) AD BANNERS: As mentioned before, the mod is not financially viable. Due to this, and increased financial pressures in my life, I've been forced to implement ads into the game. Don't worry, they only display for a total of five minutes per hour. The implementation is very tasteful and non-intrusive.

    2) IN-GAME DONATIONS: I've also added a "donate" option directly to the game menus. This makes it much easier for fans to contribute to my continued financial stability while I'm in rehab. (See the end of this post for details on that.)

    3) SAVE/LOAD REMOVED, REPLACED BY AUTO-SAVING: There is now a "Continue" option from the main menu. As everyone knows, the save-and-load process for Fallout was cumbersome and annoying, and due to most fans prefering to use just 1 save slot all the time anyway, the Save/Load functions have been removed completely and replaced with continuous auto-save. The game saves on map transitions, world map transitions, and intelligently based on major game events. I can guarantee that these saves will never become corrupted. [RATIONALE: It is common knowledge that most people prefer "pick-up-where-you-left-off" as in mobile games, and that auto-saving in games such as Oblivion was glitch-free and very popular in the gaming community.]

    4) ONLY ONE CHARACTER AT A TIME: As a side-effect of the auto-save system, it's no longer possible to have more than one game (character) simultaneously. This is a great accidental feature, because it will encourage replays, and greatly reduce the abuse of the old Save/Load functions.

    5) CUSTOMIZATION AND "FIXES-ONLY" REMOVED: I have made Fixt just one installer, which includes all new content, and it's a very reasonable 650MB download size. Installation is a breeze now; no more messing around with huge lists of checkboxes. Enjoy! [RATIONALE: I saw no indication that Fixes Only was a popular download option. Furthermore, maintaining 3 different versions of Fallout Fixt was exhausting, and most people just used default settings anyway.]

    6) CHEAT MODE: Fallout is really hard. To help everyone out with this, I've added a cheat mode that can be accessed at any time via the game's main menu.

    7) IN-GAME CHEAT MODE: I've also enabled the Debug Menu that I use during testing. This can be accessed by performing an Examine (binoculars) on your character. Preliminary feedback from players is very positive, stating that it cuts out a lot of the hassle of winning the game.

    8) MODERN LANGUAGE: Fallout is a very old game, and people don't like old games as much as new ones. So to capture a younger demographic and increase enjoyment for the majority of gamers, I have modernized all language in the game. I think you will be pleased with the ease of reading menus in shorthand and text-speak instead of archaic mid-'90s verbiage.

    9) TRAITS REQUIRED: All characters must now have 2 Traits upon creation; they are no longer optional. [RATIONALE: It will grealy increase variation amongst your characters, and is more realistic, because we're all unique snowflakes.]

    10) ACELIPS REIMPLEMENTED: The "SPECIAL" system naming convention didn't make much sense. I've reverted to the original "ACELIPS" naming convention that was used during early Fallout development, after running the idea by Tim Cain. He approved.

    11) LEVELUP BONUSES: I had frequent complaints that leveling up in Fallout didn't have enough of a reward. To change this, players now receive 1 ACELIPS point to be distributed as they wish, upon every levelup.

    12) INCREASED COMBAT EXCITEMENT: After playing Fallout for extended periods, the combat messages tend to get pretty boring. To prevent this, I've spruced it up and made it more exciting. I am very excited about this feature; it is my personal favorite among the new features in Fallout Fixt v1.0!

    13) SUPPORT OF TRANS COMMUNITY: As many at RPGCodex and elsewhere on the 'net can tell you, there's much anger in the gaming community that trans people are under-represented in computer gaming. To combat this, all descriptions of critters and NPCs in Fallout Fixt will be identified with a slash indicating that they could be either gender identity. [RATIONALE: Dude, it's the 21st century, come on. Somebody's got to stand up and bring attention to this issue.]

    14) ROMANCE OPTIONS: There is now a [Romance Options] selection in all dialogs. I was suggested this by fans of the Mass Effect series, and I thought it was a great idea. Enjoy!

[UPDATE: Romance options removed from children due to threats of child pornography lawsuits.]

    15) EMPATHY: All characters now start the game with the "Empathy" Perk. This means dialog selections that cause a positive reaction are blue, whereas those causing a negative reaction are red. There are currently no plans to make a Color-Blind-Friendly version of this feature. [RATIONALE: It's tough to know which dialog options will garner a negative or positive reaction. Also, in consideration of the removal of Save/Load functions, this keeps the game from being too hard.]

    16) ORIGINAL RESOLUTION ENFORCED: The executable (Falloutw.exe) has been hacked so that the game can only be played at 640x480 in 8-bit color and Windowed mode. [RATIONALE: Resolution is fixed, as this increases immersion and allows you to experience the game as originally intended. Windowed mode is enforced because modern gamers value multi-tasking and Facebook updates.]

    17) DIALOG ROLL DESCRIPTIONS: Like in Fallout 3, dialog will now show a percentage-to-succeed when running checks against skills or stats.

    18) RED RYDER LE: Last but not least, there is now a Red Ryder LE BB gun on every child in Fallout. [RATIONALE: Players didn't like having to search for it, and that so few existed in the original game.]

On a personal note, I've checked into a Modding And Gaming Addiction clinic for the next 6 months. Hopefully once I finish the treatment, this whole legal thing with Bethesda will have blown over. I hope the clinic doesn't take away my Diablo III license. Wish me luck.

    Hugs and kisses,

Wow...I am impressed with this...I only recently was able to get ahold of Fallout 1 (I've played it before, many years ago, but the CD it was on mysteriously vanished--but I got it from GoG when they were giving away the set, yay!). I am going to put this on--I don't care about ads so long as they, as you said, are not intrusive. looks like an awesome fix, and I like the romance option in there. I wish there was a similar mod for FO2, with romance options like that, would add an entirely new depth to the game. Excellent work here on FO FIXT, I look forward to playing it :)

Hmm, where do you download the mod from? Either there is no download link in the post, or I somehow overlooked it :P
