How Can you become a paladin?

Ive talked to Rhombus and accepted to take up training when the "invading army is vanquished." Yet he still says it when i have destroyed the military base. How do i get him to train me?

Can i be a Scribe in BoS? I got a mission to climb the highest mountain. Or did he just joked?
