you can just as easily finger one of the innocents...but you get a lot more experience by fingering the right person (renesco). if you don't need the xp then it is recommended that you just finger someone else cuz it's a huge fuckin hassle to finger renesco. either way you still get to the military base.

Sure

Well, to my knowledge, you should be able to point to Renesco and still get the parts, although you could always recover the parts before you point to him (to be sure):
Talk to Richard's brother and then search his room for the empty Jet canister. Go To Jimmy, show Canister to him and find out it's laced. Run over to Renesco and talk to him about the canister. He denies selling poisoned Jet to the kid, but mention the radscorp poison and he freezes. Tell him to spit out more information (but don't accuse him directly) and he spills the beans about the Salvadores. Go back to the Wrights, tell him about Renesco, he'll say something about Renesco, but redirect the conversation to mention the Salvadores were controlling him.

Can't think of anything bad with finding the correct perpetrator (just takes more time, but not much if you're familiar with the sequence.)
