Gauss Weapons

Do the Gauss weapons (the Gauss Rifle and Minigun) fall under the "Energy Weapon" category? They're extremely advanced so I assumed so, but they don't use fusion or plasma for ammo, so I'm not sure.

On your inventory, choose the 'small guns' filter at the top and the gauss weapons will show. Also, several members of my team have negligent energy weapons skill and still can use gauss weapons.
