General Barnaky Last mission!

Hey, im on the last mission of FOT and im fighting General Barnaky, but at one point he stops and remembers his wife Maria from his locket in my inventory, My question is after he remembers his wife maria he says he will not bother me anymore, well untill he figures some stuff out, but I still attack him, and he still attacks me! is there any ways to get him to stop attacking me, or stop me from attacking him, or do I have to kill him no matter what?

Just run like hell - after a few seconds he will stop attacking and then he'll go off. It sucks that the trigger isn't instantenous and I always end up getting at least one guy killed before he calms down.

when i fought the general, my problem was to keep HIM alive!
(using 2 gauss miniguns on one enemy can sometimes cause some problems)
