Make it do something useful, part of a quest, temporary stat boost for a day. possibility of disease (curable with doctor skill) hey and no more fade to black... if you can make a game that says "FUCKING ASSHOLE" among other things.. and even implement the prostitution into the game then you should have at least a cheesy pixel hump fest for a laugh (adult feature on/off in the options) (or maybe only /console accessable style)

I dunno.. it all over FO2 and damn expensive too but served NO PURPOSE..... remove that which serves no purpose and the game will improve... like new reno in f02 had prositutes, junkies, and porn stars that had thier own entire buildings to themselves. a whole run down shack of junkies is just a waste of map space, becoming a porn star was stupid because your party will leave and prostitues do nothing... so there you are with 3 useless buildings right off the top of my head in only one city.
(at least the porn building had some sorta quest tied to it) (unless you count the cat paw mags quest which i dont because it was trivial)

yeah... make more use of your map space

that is all.

Then you'd have to leave out all bars, because there are usually no quests tied to them and drinking is totally useless.
Some things are there just to create a certain atmosphere. New Reno is supposed to be a fcked up city with jetties and prostitutes, so there have to be jetties and prostitutes.
And New Reno isn't the only town with useless buildings. There's the third sector of Vault City which has a lot of useless buildings and Klamath has also a lot of empty buildings.

yeah i bougt a gaem 2 see sum sexxx n0t 2 play sum st00p1d post-gayish homo-playin game!!!1 m0r fuck shit yah!!!11 suck my dick beeyatch!!!!!!1

Damn, ApTyp beat me to this.

But he's right. Fallout isn't Liesure Suit Larry with rubble. Rampant hookers don't fit the 1950s' sensibility, and New Reno was just insanely piss poor as an addition to the Fallout universe.

I think the prostitution in FO2 is just symptomatic for a general FO2 problem. In FO1 there was ONE prostitute and you did it once just to see what's gonna happen. In FO2 there are prostitutes in The Den, Néw Reno, Klamath and Redding.
In Fo1 there was one casino, if I'm right. In Fo2 we have Casinos in New Reno, The Den and Redding.
In Fo1 everything was more unique than in Fo2.
Just think of the .233 pistol.
And how many power armors are there in Fo2?

Fo1 there was one casino,

>we have Casinos in New
>Reno, The Den and Redding.

Maltese Falcon had gambling area
if that counts as a casino ;)

That's because Fallout 1 was a better game. It was the one with vision, as opposed to Fallout 2 which was an amalgum of whatever the hell they felt like tossing in to it.

>In FO2 there are prostitutes

Yeah, so much for the whole "shock value" of having prostitutes like there was in Fallout.

>In Fo1 there was one casino,

Gizmo's in Junktown and the Maltese Falcon in The Hub.

Notice that both casinos were there as fronts for bad guys, because they were hiding from the law in those towns.

>In Fo1 everything was more unique

Yup, that's one good reason that Fallout was better.

>Just think of the .233 pistol.

It's also sad they didn't change the description of it.

>And how many power armors are

Four. The T-51b and the hardenned T-51b, and the Advanced Power Armor and the Mark 2 version.

Uh, SP, he probably meant the amount of people wearing power armor and the amount you could find in shops and such.

JR

Nunc ut nunquam

It always bugged me that Power Armour was for sale in FO2 (well, that and many other things). Here it is, this super armour and all of a sudden, common folk have gotten a hold of it and are actually selling it, not wearing it, not forming their own super l33+ group to go around wasting people. No, they sell it. Dip-shits.

Thus concludes my rant of the day.

Moo..... Moo.... I'm an Interplay Cow. (Ready to be milked with a Fallout style MMORPG with aliens!)

Of all yur arguments, i agree with the last one.
Power armour is extremely rare yes, and they should have like 4 or 5 available suits which would definitely NOT be sold on the streets.
And I thought fallout 2 was MUCH better than the original. The hookers and that were there to create an atmosphere, as were the casino's and pubs. Sorry for those of you that play on cruddy computers, but i like having to actually LOOK for what i have to do, instead of having 4 buildings set out in front of me, with all of them having a quest or sumthin..

No, that city did not fit into the setting at all. It was absurd and misplaced. It belonged in Wasteland, but not Fallout. It severely detracted from the dark humor setting of Fallout.

I thought FO1 had some great ideas, and that FO2 improved them. I agree with Roshambo about the whole "atmosphere" thing, and in my opinion New Reno was a great addition to the Fallout Universe, since it created a great hive of scum and villainy, something you would see in a post-apocalyptic universe. And while FO1 had a 1950ish setting, im pretty sure that in a world thats been nuked with only a few survivors remaining, there definitely WOULD be prostitution, drugs, etc. since society has been destroyed, and humans have been demoralized. Also I think its good that street vendors sold power armor in FO2 bcuz you could only get AT MOST 2 frickin power armors in FO1 to sell and wear. And besides its not like very single vendor sold power armor in FO2. Only in San Fran and some other city if im not mistaken.

If I remember right power armor was only for sale in San Fran, where there is a BOS outpost. Don't you think the Brotherhood Could make PA like they did in Fallout 1 and sell it to local shops.

Why the hell would they sell PA and have their people in combat armor?

In fact, why the hell would they part with the power armor at ALL?

BUt remeber that the bos split up becauz the enclave wuz more powerfull than the bbos so i guess they didn't needed the power armor so they jus sold it to the guy at the store

Were you by chance trying for the most stupid explanation possible?
