Is there any benefit of not saving Ripley the prisoner?

Noticed a post a while ago that mentioned that the general is pissed about you freeing her but apperantly he says nothing if you ignore her.. Usually when you get some bad stuff in the debrief you will lose something. Not sure if you actually lose "rep" for doing this the wrong way.

And you get some free books later on which you wouldn't get if you leave her in her prison.

I knew about the books and such that is why i always save her. But i forgot about it the last time and he went pissy so i thought it would not just be free books for doing so,

You will find her dead at Great Bend if you save her,that's the benefit.
