Meet the Per

The "my opinion is better than yours thing" was a joke, by the way. I haven't played the game 20 times, though I've maybe been doing stuff in it equivalent to that.

I've used the gifted trait in every single playthrough, but one, and the early parts of the game tend to be the only times that I'm hurting for skills because of it.

Usually this occurs on a lockpicking/science/repair action of some sort, but occasionally it's in the speech area. (which is really frustrating) I've found that if you know what they're supposed to say and the option isn't popping up, you generally don't want to have to go level up a few times and come back and ask again with more skill points in the bag.
same goes for unlocking a door, fixing a generator etc..

I say generally, because in the early parts of the game a few levels isn't shit, and you can go clear out a couple of random encounter mountain-caves with a melee weapon to save ammo and be reasonaly more skilled in a short time..
Also, certain things are worth tedious power levelling and rampant book reading, like having a high enough doctor and science skill to learn about the armor implants in F02.

I personally think gifted is more of a power gamer perk. As someone has already mentioned, carrying weight, ap, endurance, etc,etc arn't reallt that necessary if you know ho to play smart.

Now of course as a power game, yes I want to try to max out as much stats as possible or shoot that minigun two times and still reload.

In the end through, only intelligence and charisma are needed because they affect the primary way one gains experience in the game (quests).
