Modern Warfare 2 and NAT

I've been playing Modern Warfare 2 for about a day, and I notice the in-game menu still says "NAT type: Strict". Upon investigation, I found out I would have to activate UPnP in my router to allow more incoming connections. However, this is already active in the router. I'm not sure what to do, can't contact either support here. It's kind of a grey area.

Usually, port forwarding would fix this. Check Portforward.com for details.

Though if you have no problems connecting to people and getting in games, there's no real reason to go through this.

welcome to hosted servers, not dedicated servers...

a game that REQUIRES you to compromise network security to play on line.

fucking genius.

Check if any of firewall or security software is blocking UPnP.

I really don't think so, I've been port forwarding for a while now. The game is still fully playable, just not sure if it could be better.

This. IW really dropped the ball in terms of PC... although selling the map-packs to PC users now will make Activi$ion happy.

When you buy MW2 for PC, you're buying MW2 for consoles, just with better mouse+keyboard support is all.

I don't even see how they thought this was a good idea, way to kill lots of longevity for your game by flat-out denying people custom maps, modes, skins and all that.
