My viewpoints on the assorted fallout games.

Hi guys, first post here, I think I'll fit in just fine.

To note, the first fallout I ever played, was fallout 3, on the PS3.

I would have loved to have played the first and second, first, but I never got the chance.

I found Fallout 3 to be an okay game, nothing spectacular, but it has its upsides, and its downsides.

Notably it runs like absolute trash, and the Point Lookout DLC kept fucking FREEZING in random areas! GRAHHH!

Ahem.

I later managed to get my hands on Fallout 1, and I found it significantly better as a fallout game, my only quarrels with the game is with the isometric turnbased gameplay, not a giant fan, but I can cope, and enjoy it regardless.

Never managed to beat Fallout 1, fucking kept getting instantly killed by supermutants with RPG's, despite my glorious hardened power armour.

I then got my hands on New Vegas, which I found was 'basically fallout 1's dialogue and quests, but with fallout 3's gamplay, but better!'.

Needless to say, I've beaten NV quite a few times...Admittedly I primarily play with so damned many mods, its not even close to how vanilla plays...I can only describe it as 'basically as hard as STALKER Misery, but fallout' now.

And no, I have not had the chance to play Fallout 2 or Tactics yet, please don't beat me up too hard! D;>

I heard that 2 is better than one, and Tactics is a fine 'gameplay' fallout.

Oh, and the complimentary 'fuck Fallout 4 and bethesda for ruining our glorious franchise', of course.

Welcome.
Mine is more like this

Fallout 1- Nice story, very short and easy to get through.
Fallout 2- Bigger than Fallout 1, still very nice but overstays its welcome a bit. Some extremely fun places to go and some well written settlements and characters make for an enjoyable time.
Fallout 3- First one I played, crap story, interesting exploration and works better as a sandbox game. Half the DLC is good, half of it is pretty bad.
New Vegas- Takes the best things about 2 and multiplies it. Doesn't feel too long and an improvement over 3. All DLC is good as well.
Fallout 4- Massive letdown, I've explained why this game is bad numerous times. Fuck this game.

Hmm I think your opinions match mine.

I never liked Fallout 3's story, but I didn't mind exploring and shooting shit with my guns.

NV is easily my favourite.

Welcome to the forums.

You could have posted all this on the introduction thread (http://www.nma-fallout.com/threads/introduce-yourself-aka-the-say-hello-thread.152688/) but regardless, welcome aboard.

EDIT: As for mine
1 - Great writing though some issues with less content and time limit (but okay with them)
2 - Too goofy but one of my favourites in the series with plenty of content and C&C (choice and consequence)
3 - Introduced me to the series but not as fond of it these days (plus it's poorly optimised)
New Vegas - My other favourite of the series, only flaw is that its hampered by Gamebryo
4 - Hate it. Not with the passion of a thousand burning suns but it was a shitty Fallout game and a below average game.

Never played Tactics or PoS.

You don't have to fight the super-mutants to "beat" fallout 1. Both fallout 1 and 2 could be finished by a non- combattant.

1. Nicely designed worlds with towns and npcs being connected in ways you wouldn't expect them to be.

2. This one can be just as retarded as fallout 4 at times. Sometimes worse. And most of the especially retarded stuff is inconsequential and thus can be ignored. But ultimately the good outweighs the bad.
3. Lets run down the list.
It fails as a fallout game.
Its a horribly sub-par shooter.
Its a shit RPG.
had one ending that was later recommend
Rehashes galore.
Plotholes out the ass
At least the music was good.
NV. I'm not a big fan of the gameplay and the games is ugly as sin but damned if everything else about this game didn't kick ass. The lore, The Dialogue, NPC Personalities, traits are back, every DLC was great... Solid game.
4. Almost everything fallout 3 did badly fallout 4 doubled down on. Especially on unanswered questions and Plotholes. Easily worse than 3.
