Naah... Before the "NO FALLOUT 1/2 RELATED POSTS HERE" sign where in the lobby, 1 of 100 people posted wrong stuff, now, it seems that the size of the sign is directly proportional to the quantity of wrong posts in the board, didn't saw?!?

Xotor, that has ruined the whole appearance of the NMA. Moreover, what happens to those people who are semi illiterate? i.e. they cannot understand that message completely, and they see the Fallout 2 in there and they enter the forum and ask in their best English possible if someone knows how to complete a certain task. What'll you do then?

I chuckled when I first saw it too. Hmm, maybe we can build a javascript application which detects the language used on that computer, then flashes the message "THIS IS NOT FOR FALLOUT 1 OR 2 QUESTIONS." Then have that in every conceivable language underneath. No? Oh well, that was my automatic writing done for the day.

Now, here you have the tip of a good idea. When someone makes a new account, we can have the posting rules (*sigh*, I know...been busy with a lot of other things). But we could make it in different languages, etc. I can alter the script so that it will display them in different languages, and also available through the help screen and a link on the description of each board.

A failure to communicate

Okay, first time on this board and I read through this entire thread without figuring out what this board *is* for. {don't worry, it's clear to me now} But I do have to say that the entrance message is pretty ambiguous. I mean, not game-related... for crying out loud, Fallout 1 and 2 *are games*. A newcomer will most likely see the title {"general" discussion}, ignore anything below {that would be hard to achieve now, though... hey could you make it blink, slow at first and then faster and faster to say, 15 ons-and-offs per second?} and post the problem without thinking twice. So, maybe you should retouch the eye-stabber a little, maybe add a little link "if you still don't understand what's this board for" and if that doesn't work, rig his refrigerator to exactly ice-cream melting temperature.

I agree, but I have a belief too mine is that Ignorance and Stupidity are not acceptable esspecially ignorance, god I hate Ignorance. DEATH TO IGNORANCE!!!!!!

Well, no kidding. But if you had comments that were of a semi-important nature, or just general chatter, then it would get lost in a fray of a hint board. That's why a General board was made.

Anyway, here's an idea :

Design a script that acually understands things people are writing, and if the things they're writing match the criteria (if they're posting something on the wrond board), have some java script turn all their volume controls to max and send a really loud BOOM ! trough their speakers. Then have that thingie someone came up with that fires 9mm rounds through people's internet connection burst a magazine at them, and have their monitor display "this is not the right forum for that subject". And then hope they got the message.

People would always[/] have to write a certain word otherwise a huge sound would go through their speakers. Basically, everyone would have earaches, broken speakers, or incredibly boring posts. So no!
